Me-1980

All I can think of is Alton's Corkscrew.

Or just copy and paste my opening post of this topic :p

A few that stand out from 1979 are:-

Beast, Kings Island
Irn Bru Revolution, BPB
Big Thnder Mountain Railroad, Disneyland
Super Wirbel, Holiday Park
Gemini Junior, Cedar Point

1986:

Ultra Twister - Six Flags Great Adventure
Snake in the Grass - Pleasurewoodhills
Scream Machine - Expo '86
Shockwave - SFMM
Shockwave - Kings Domain
Laser - Dorney Park

Here's a couple coasters that opened in 1976 as I don't mind showing my age either!

Revolution - SFMM

Corkscrew - CP

:D

Thought you could get me to admit my age, did ya there Ian.
I'll put it this way, there is only one operating coaster that opened the year I was born and it's truly an historical one. Go ahead and guess...

Crystal Beach Cyclone?
I was going to say Scenic Railway at Luna Park. Seems about the right time and it's historical :p
For those that don't get these comments: Crystal Beach Cyclone opened in 1926, so that would make me 82 and Scenic Railway at Luna Park opened in 1912, so I would be 96 according to Ian. Very funny guys. Very funny...

Come on people...you call yourselves coaster enthusiasts and you can't get this simple one?
I'm sure Stevie-boy or furie will get it, so why doesn't someone try to beat them to the punch?! (Ian & Marcus don't give it away as you both know my age.)

Great American Scream Machine- Six Flags Over Georgia
Carolina Goldrusher - Carowinds Steel
Horská Dráha - Lunapark

Hurray for the theme park downturn :p

Jerry, Gotta be the Matterhorn Bobsleds :)

That's a BIG birthday you go coming up mate!

^I warned them that you or UC would get it (too easy right?), but you didn't even give 'em a chance. :p
And yep, 'tis the big one indeed (unless I live to be 100)...

^Slightly younger then my mom, yet so much cooler :D

Speaking of, my parents birthyears:

Dad: 1956
Little Dipper-Midway Park is the only one on RCDB

Mom: 1958
Wildmouse-PBB
Coaster-Playland
Big Dipper-Camden Park

Ain't that exciting?

Runaway Mine Train at Alton Towers
Big Thunder Mountain at DLP

^There the only noteable ones from 1992

oh and Batman The:Ride

These, and Eagle's Fortress.

I think that the 3rd best steel coaster in the world is rather notable.

1984: the year of bugger all!

Only notable coasters were:

Big Bad Wolf (still there)
XLR-8 (gone)
Space Invader 2 (wish it were gone)

Yup, my birth year too. I was disappointed in that.

Ha, of the coasters that opened in my birth year I've been on
Dragon - Fantasy Island Amusement Park
Rasender Tausendfüßler - Erlebnispark Tripsdrill
Shockwave - Kings Dominion
Snake In The Grass - Pleasurewood Hills
Tidal Wave - Trimper's Rides
and then Wild One - Six Flags America (although that was a relocate)

I guess the only notable ones would be Tidal Wave, boomerangs still being very new at the time and also Shockwave, looping standups were still new.

And I guess I'm only missing 2 state-side 86 credits

Full list of 20 - http://rcdb.com/ir.htm?opened=1986&status=9,13

1993:

Kumba, Busch Gardens Africa
Batman The Ride, Six Flags Great Adventure

What a slow yet good year for coasters...

Watch what you're missing here :p
- Black Hole Express (One of the most unique Vekoma's)
- Canyon Blaster (Indoor Vekoma in Vegas)
- Top Gun/Flight Deck
- Indiana Jones (Disney's first loop)

Those are a few that spring to mind, adding onto Kumba and Batty.

All sorts of crap in 1983!

Alton Towers' Beastie
Big Loops at Heide Park, which must be one of the smoothest 25yr old coasters about! It works better than me.
Flamingoland's Corkscrew opened then.
SFNE's Cyclone (Pre-drop-bastardisation)
Dragon Mountain (Pre-theming)
Moonsault Scramble (Pre-closure)
Vertigorama @ Parque de la Cuidad (which never opened)

What an array...
