Looks nice, I hope they'll keep it to the station and lift, so that the rest of the ride will be in darkness.
Would make this view pretty intimidating at night:
It does look sexy but it would be ever sexier if they continued the lights through the lift hill curve and for a few metres down the first drop. It looks like a giant light sabre as it is, but having a strange light curving downwards and disappearing would make a more spectacular, intriguing piece of 'art' imo.
^This. Lighting the entire profile of the first drop would really add a nice cynosure to the park for those driving around it at night. I love getting to Carowinds via the highway and seeing the park come into view, and I really like driving around it at night and seeing Intimidator's lights on the lift. Imagine if they had a giant green glowing arch rising into the sky. <3
Banshee's lights combined with the fact that part of the ride is in the middle of nowhere makes the experience nothing short of nightmarish when the sun goes down. I'd love to see some of that same lighting package on Fury 325. That rotating tree branch print that KI shines on the second loop? What if they did that but in green hexagons on Fury's turnaround?
That looks extremely expensive, but too awesome not to spend the money on those lights.
I actually hope they illuminate the entire ride, similar to Gatekeeper. The ride is beautiful, so they might as well show it off as much as they can. Plus, riders will get to whiz past all the lights. One night ride on Top Thrill Dragster and you'll realize that the blur of lights streaking by you makes the ride nearly as fun as a pitch black ride.
If you want to see it's first test run, I'd hop over to the webcam right now!
The transfer track just moved, so we should be on track for a test run slightly later today.
Those trains have had dummies in them all day, and the last time they tried putting the train on the transfer table it got stuck. Nothing has happened in over 3 hours. If you're hoping for a test cycle tomorrow's your best bet at this rate.
Surely I can't be the only one that thinks there will be some little pops of air in the transitions of the first overbank after the drop and the turn/ low overbank right after? This thing looks like it will have little bits and pops of air plus the three hills at the end and the horseshoe turn around is supposed to be zero-g. Leviathan only has three proper airtime hills and it gets rave reviews.
I would not be expecting any measure of ejector airtime on this one, just the same as majority of B&M hypers. Rather, nice floater air is probably what riders are due in for - which can be a good thing!
