Best Spinning Coaster

Well, I've only been on 3. Spinball, Twister at WMSP and a travelling spinner (think is called something like Shark Bite and either Reverchon or Zamperla, not sure) at Chavasse Park in Liverpool City Centre

Twister didn't spin, Shark Bite thingy was painful and Spinball was really quite enjoyable.

The Maurer Söhne ones are definitely the best! All of them very enjoyable family coasters :) I especially like Winjas which is actually in my top 20 overall coasters; great coaster action with absurd theming and hidden surprices!

Don't know the manufacturers but of the 4 I've been on, I'd rate them:

1. Whirlwind (Camelot)
2. Spinball (AT)
3. Dragons Fury (CWOA)
404. That one at Southport Pleasureland.

I think it depends on who's in the car with you as to how good they are - my three goes on Dragons Fury have each been noticeably different, whereas Whirlwind has just spun like buggery every time.

Dragon's Fury is the only one that didn't bore me, so probably that. The one at Worlds of Fun was good too but only because our car was seriously off balance.

Definitely Dragon's Fury for me. That ride is the only I've been that has a real good spin throughout the ride!

Dragon's Fury and just behind it, Winja's
I don't care for the Gerstlauer ones (been on 4) or the Maurer SC2000 model (also been on 4)

TBH - most are forgettable & I find that themeing really makes a big difference on these types of coasters.
For me it's pretty close between my favorites, but I have to give Winjas at Phantasialand the nod over the others. As Andrée already mentioned, it just has much more to offer than any of the others.
Although it doesn't have much themeing, Tornado at Bakken is a close second due to it's intensity & uniqueness.
Next on my list is Exterminator at Kennywood, which just doesn't feel like any other Reverchon spinning wild mouse & has fantastic themeing to boot.
Then there's Euro Mir at Europa Park that deserves to be in my top 5 just on the ride's soundtrack alone, but is a pretty good coaster as well.
I'll round off my favorites with Sonic Spinball at Alton Towers, which doesn't offer much in themeing but is a very fun ride.

The worst go to Cagliostro at Rainbow MagicLand, which could be so much but is nothing other than a cred-in-a-shed, & Crazy Mouse at Martin's Fantasy Island, which is anything but crazy - it's just awful. <///3

Mine- Pandemonium, SFNE

This because I really enjoyed the ride in general and because I went on with 2 random girls and they were terrified of it so it was quite amusing for me. And it's the only spinning coaster I've been on. :--D

Even though I've not been on it in 4 or 5 years, I'm going to go with Dragons Fury as well.
I would have gone for Winjas, but the ride relies too much on trick track which isn't even that great.

I find Dragon's Fury really hit and miss. If you get a good spin on it, it's a superb ride. If you don't, it's just really long and meandering and doesn't really do anything exciting. I like it because it actually has a decent length, but it's a bit crap after the second lift too which kind of ruins it.

Sonic Spinball I find the same. A good spin and it's brilliant, a bad spin? It's actually still a pretty decent kiddie coaster actually. The compact nature of the ride makes it still a little intense and fun. So with a good spin, DF is the winner, but generally, Sonic Spinball generally wins out.

Whirlwind at Camelot was okay I found. A bit jerky, but nothing obscene. Dull though and I never felt any compulsion to re-ride.

The Gerstlauer one at SFNE was okay too I guess, and I enjoyed being sat facing inwards, but it didn't really do very much.

Tylorean Tubs (or whatever they're called) at Joyland made Whirlwind seem like a soft mattress.

The Reverchon spinners (and their ilk) I actually quite enjoy in a way. In a "it's not bad I suppose for a kiddie coaster mixed a little with a bit of Waltzer action". I don't make any effort to ride them though if I have to pay for them, but I'll go on them with CF or the kids if they fancy it.

So yeah, probably that order. I can't remember the Virginia Reel at Blackpool, so no idea if it was good or not (or even if I rode it - though I suspect I did).

Dragon's Fury - it's a fun, substantial and thoroughly rerideable beast, don't think I've ever had a bad ride.

Winjas - pure wtf, the trick track and interaction with both theming and other rides is what makes this coaster so memorable for me.

Tornado at Bakken - don't think I've ever laughed so much on a coaster? The launch comes out of nowhere and the thing is just wicked.

Tornado at Bakken defiantly

Love Winjas and Dragons Fury. But the Revechon spinners etc. can **** off!
