Best Park

In your opinion, what is the best park on the whole?

Mine is the entire Universal Orlando Resort

Leave a response down BELOW

Cedar Point so far. That'll probally change with going to Dollywood in a few months in May. I'm really pissed thy're closing Adventure Mountain. :(

all in all - europa takes a lot of beating, an awesome drop tower and a couple of thrill flats and the park would be perfect!

I'm just sitting an watching for anybody that says differently to the Favourite Park tag in their profile ;)

Mine is William's Amusements at Tir Prince ;)

To just name the park in your profile would be rather pointless :P So why not make it a top 5?

1) Port Aventura: Beautiful landscaping, awesome coasters, large park and nice weather, what more can one ask for? :--D

2) Europa Park: Great theming and a large collection of odd coasters that are hard to find anywhere else! But who can't love rides like EuroMir, Blue Fire and EuroSat?? To be a "complete" experience they should invest in an adult attraction though, something more intense (since everything else is family orientated)

3) Hershey Park: No theming but a lush park and an overall nice experience makes for a good park! Plus the many coasters with the utterly superb SkyRush at the front!

4) Phantasialand: A bit narrow and crowded, but awesome theming and severall great rides! Black Mamba <3

5) Mirabilandia: An often overlooked park, but one of the best in europe according to me! They've got two of the best coasters in the world with Katun and iSpeed, and an ace dark ride shooter in Reset! Add the overall lush landscaping and some awesomly themed areas like the Mayan city and you have a great park! :--D

On the whole, the best park I've been to is Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The theming is fantastic, the line-up of coasters is very strong, the atmosphere is excellent and the general scenery is beautiful.

My favourite park, however, is still Knoebels. I had such a fun day there, and the park is totally unique.

^Oh I totally forgot about Knoebles! I don't think it would make my top 5, but it definitely gets an honourable mention as it's a very nice park and we had a blast when we visited! :--D

Kinda depends what you're looking for really. If you're looking for coasters it has to be Six Flags Magic Mountain or Cedar Point. If you're looking for the full package I'd say places like Hershey, Alton Towers, Port Aventura, and Europa would probably be the best. They all seem to have a nice combination of coasters and atmosphere!

^Couldn't disagree more. The selection & variety can't be matched by any other park (including Cedar Point). Of course it was better with the GIB, but Full Throttle should make up for that once it opens.

Yes, the park has a massive variety of coasters; but from a personal stand-point, there's nothing outstanding there for me.

Apocalypse (when it was Terminator), Superman (backwards launch version) and X2 (the time when the music was working for me) are all in my 'good' category, but everything else I don't care too much for, whilst Riddler's and Revolution are just plain painful and awful.

Hopefully Full Throttle can give the park that 'great' coaster I feel it needs.

I think there are a few great coasters at the park. Many of us really like X2 & Tatsu (which is possibly the best B&M flyer) & some even have them in their Top 10. The Batman clones are at the top of many members favorite B&M inverts, as is Riddler's Revenge among standups.
I've never heard anyone here say a bad word about Goliath & the Medusas are generally considered to only be behind Superman Krypton Coaster & Dominator among the floorless coasters, so although not great they are certainly quite good. There are also quite a few CFers that think ZacSpins are very good, so along with Apocalypse & Superman: Escape from Krypton (which you agree are good) the coaster selection seems to stack up quite well.
All this aside, which park do you think is better as far as coasters are concerned?

Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

- One of the, if not the best Inverted coasters in Alpengeist (certainly better than Batman).
- One of the best Mega Coasters in the world in Apollo's Chariot (certainly better than Goliath).
- A fantastic Dive Machine in Griffon.
- Unique interlocking loop element and one of the best Arrow coasters in Loch Ness Monster.
- An extremely fun-looking and uniquely themed launcher (and family coaster?) in Verbolten.
- A decent choice for a kiddie coaster in Grover...
- And when it was there, Big Bad Wolf was also a very good and fun coaster.

There's no weak link, every ride is excellently themed and use the terrain very well, the variety is clearly there, and almost every coaster type is a proven winner... Best of all, every coaster is a lot of fun!

The problem with SFMM for me is that every coaster has incredible potential, but they've managed to screw it all up somehow... When I went in 2011, X2's audio wasn't working which detracted a TON from the ride, Goliath felt forceless and had zero airtime (before, it was sitting in my top 10, but it has now dropped down), and Tatsu was closed but I just remember it squashing my balls and making me feel ill in 2009

Scream! is a big pile of parking lot crap (I'd be the first to admit I'm not a fan of B&M Floorless coasters, although SFDK's Medusa is decent). I've never been on a B&M Stand-Up that hasn't felt like being in a boxing match, whist rides like Ninja (which was a massive let-down after BBW the year before in 2008) and Viper and Gold Rusher are really nothing special, and Revolution is one of the worst coasters which I've been on.

So yeah, that's one of the reasons why I've already said BGW is one of the best parks I've ever been to whilst SFMM is not. :)

While I agree with the quality of coasters at BGW & it is one of my all-time favorite parks, they only have five coasters (plus the kiddie cred). So it simply doesn't have the selection or variety for me to say that it's the best park for coasters, which is what we are discussing (not best park overall).

I'd much rather have quality over quantity to determine what makes a park best for coasters, rather than variety or just how many coasters are in the park.

I don't deny that SFMM has a massive selection and variety of coasters, and I'm definitely not saying that I don't enjoy the park; but when only a few of its coasters are any good, then I question how it would be the best coaster park out there.

BGW has the variety of coasters (Inverted, Mega, Looper, Launch, Family) without going into the crap varieties like B&M Stand-Ups, and it pulls off each variety very strongly. I'd rather have 5 very strong coasters compared to, say 2 or 3 strong and the rest mediocre to bad that SFMM has.
