Best park for honeymoon trip?

Hoi! Not sure if this is the forum for this question, but here goes.

My partner and I are getting married in the coming years, which means we're completely bypassing all wedding planning and focusing on the most important thing: the honeymoon! Details of the actual wedding pale in comparison to where we will pass our honeymoon (ie. hopefully in the best park mankind has to offer).

Which is why I've enlisted CF's help. My partner is Dutch and I'm Canadian, so we can pretty much run the gamut for location. What we're looking for is a park with a lot of unique rides, good surroundings (lots of things to do outside of the park as well), clean accommodations, and overall awesomeness. SO! If you'd be so kind, please fire off a few of your favs and explain why it/they fit these critieria. Keep in mind we're huge adrenaline junkies and there's no ride we will not try (I assume I've come to the right place...).

TL;DR version: getting married. Honeymoon in theme park. Best place?

I had my honeymoon at Disney, Paris. It was fantastic and if you like Disney, it's an excellent choice because pushing the boat out at Disney gets you a lot.

I've heard a lot of people big up Europa Park in Germany too with Hotel Colosseo getting a lot of love.

On a similar scale, Port Aventura too is a great "holiday destination", particularly as you're so close then to Barcelona which gives you more than a theme park (for us, Disney Paris also involved a trip into Paris).

Florida is an obvious choice as well, but maybe a little too commercial? Others will be able to help on the US front, I'm not massively up on them.

That's a start anyway :)

The first thing that comes to mind on this topic is: Tokyo Disney Resort. It's absolutely AMAZING!!
Loads of rides and a great atmosphere, and if you get bored when just pop over to Tokyo, where there are several small parks that are easily accessible by train if you crave for something bigger...

At the moment there might be some problems due to the after-effects of the recent earthquake, but as long as you stay in Tokyo or in the western part of Japan, you won't notice much of it especially if you go later this year...

Thorpe Park I would say lol, Joking.

I would also go the Disney way as they will make it special for you if you let them know that is why you are going.

I had a great time for my birthday at WDW, they gave me a badge and all day all I heard was happy birthday even from people just walking round the park lol.

A Disney resort is something we had considered, but we're not sure a "commercial" all-inclusive of that type is something we want. Ideally, it's more about the rides than the best possible location. Parks like Cedar Point, Magic Mountain, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Alton Towers are right up our alley. My only concern is the accommodations and lack of things to do in the immediate surroundings.

Magic Mountain has LA not FAR (I understand it can be done in like 90 minutes or it can take 4 hours... welcome to California!), which has lots to do, beaches, awesomeness and Disneyland and Knott's if you wanted more parks.

CP is just in Ohio, ugh.

Out of those I'd personally say Magic Mountain is in the best "area", but, you'd have to get down to LA if you get me... LA <3<3<3<3

I would go for LA then, you have 5 good parks there and I really enjoyed my time there.

The traffic can be bad though as Ben said, it took us 2 hours to get to Magic Mountain from Disney yet only 40 mins on the drive back.

Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey has New York City right near it, we did the drive in an hour and a bit, including traffic and all. It also has a load of creds and I'd say it's the best park for coasters in North America. You could always do a few days there, and then go to New York City or whatever.

I'd say that or Magic Mountain/LA would be your best bet.

I'd go to Busch Gardens Tampa simply because you can go there, then go to Sea World, then go to Universal.. and even hit up crappy Disney.. and make a fun little trip out of it.

I've been going back and forth between Cedar Point and any/all parks in California.

CP has the most coasters but yeah, I've told many people we're planning our honeymoon in Sandusky, Ohio, and we get the weirdest looks. Plus I've read the accommodations are horrible.

Magic Mountain is increasingly becoming a close second. I've been to California before (mostly Manhattan Beach and Malibu), so I've been to Sea World in San Diego and Universal Studios. Both were alright, so I guess that frees up some time for Knott's, MM, etc.

Thanks for the swift responses, guys! I'll pass on my findings.

^Magic Mountain actually has one more coaster (or, will when they finish them!)

PLUS, it has X2 <3> the whole of CP.

Sounds like you're in store for a week in Orlando.

Day 1 - Epcot
Day 2 - Hollywood Studios/Animal Kingdom
Day 3 - Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - Universal Studios Hollywood
Day 5 - Islands of Adventure
Day 6 - SeaWorld Orlando
Day 7 - Beach Day! Cocoa Beach?

^ I was thinking along those lines too. You have all the east coast beaches, Cocoa Beach, ect., and there are the beaches on our side, like Clearwater Beach, Honeymoon Island, ect.

If you're staying in Orlando nothing is further than an hour and a half to two hours away (with fairly good traffic).

And, of course, there are some great parks, again within a reasonable distance.

Singapore!

It's very luxurious with plenty of fab hotels, and of course there's the new Universal Studios park there. Sure, the park isn't the thrill capital of the world, but Singapore as a whole is a good honeymoon destination. It's exotic, warm all year round and has gorgeous beaches, so there's plenty of other stuff to do too. If money isn't a problem then you could have an amazing time.

Or maybe Clearwater.

Orlando is good, you can do lot's of parks then. :)

If you want a European park I would say parc Asterix or Phantasialand.
