Best coaster at night?

All parks close before night time over here, and I haven't been long enough at the ones that doesn't, so this is merely a wish-list:

- Beast
- Boulder Dash
- RF II
- Nemesis
- Nitro
- Furius Baco
- The Ultimate
- Millennium Force
- Dodonpa
- Eejanaika/X^2
- Thunder Dolphin
- Eagle Fortress

Big Thunder Mountain in CA at night was so fast and fun, Erol sorry dont agree with you about the Paris one its to slow really dont know what they have done to it.

For me though I loved California Screaming at night. Yes its not the worlds greatest coaster but it the atmosphere makes it for me.

Kumba at night was so fast as was Guzi :)

Nemesis Inferno at night is so intense as well.

For some reason I expect Manta is going to look really cool at night going over the water with moon light.

My favourite has to be Olympia Looping at night. Amazing climibng up the lift hill to see all the city lite up and then fliying through the loops and turns with all the structure lite up.

Also Dæmonen at Tivoli was great at night.

The one coaster I would love to do at night would be The Ultimate. I reckon once you get past the second lift hill where there is no light it would be amazing.

In Norway, yes. But then in the rest of the Nordic there is several parks that are opened until midnight.

But Eagle Fortress after closing with every light off, just amazing.
So is Lisebergbanan, you just whizz around in darkness on the top of the mountain, just great.

^ Olympia Looping would be awesome. I would also love to do Fuji-Q when they have a "all-nighter" at the park, It would be so awesome to ride their coasters at night.

Just to point out; either that is sarcasm or you are clearly incorrect

BTM @ Paris:

Big thunder mountain in Paris is clearly faster; but I've never ridden the one in CA so I can't clearly compare the experiences. But the one in Paris is far from slow.

A ride I found significantly faster among others at night was definately Stampida; it felt twice as wild and forceful. :p Not to say it was good because it truly is an awful coaster.

^To be fair, apart from the tunnels, I found Paris' Thunder to be very, very sluggish earlier this year.

That's a maximum speed as well remember, it just spikes to that, it's not an average.

Also, Poke, I think you'd be out of luck with The Ultimate, because correct me if I'm wrong, but it never runs at night. I'm not 100% sure it would be health and safety approved to do that since there are no lights anywhere on it if I recall correctly.

Last month it was slow not as good as 2 years ago and not as good at the one in CA or Oralando. I used to say it was the best one but now its not as I said I dont know what they have done to it.

I've only ridden BTM in Orlando & wasn't impressed, but then none of the coasters at Disney impressed me.
Believe it or not, I truly love Kingda Ka at night. Flying into total darkness at 128 mph is awesome, the view from the crown is spectacular & heading back into the lights of the midway as you fly up & over the hill is the perfect finish.
I agree that Boulder Dash at night is pure sex & Ravine Flyer II at night is pure orgasm, but the most fun I've ever had was riding backwards on Thunder Road at Carowinds (I imagine Rebel Yell at KD was probably even better since it heads further out into blackness). There's nothing like facing backwards & seeing all those stars pop up in the sky as you drop down the hills. It's the main reason why I wish Cedar Fair wouldn't have stopped the trains from running backwards.

Front Row on Beast at Night.

There is No Comparison.

I can imagine. Even experiencing Baco at night was pretty insane :p It gets me much more in darkness because you don't have a clue where you are going :--D KK is on my wish list atm I'm afraid

I love how everything is sexually related whilst explaining coasters  Makes the rides sound a bit more pleasurable :p

I think that they almost all have something to gain by being ridden at night, but there are ones that I liked best. The five best are:
Beast
Top Thrill Dragster
Millennium Force
Backlot Stunt Coaster (KI)
Kraken

Mavvy or Millie, you get an extra helping of bugs thrown in, and who said you couldn't eat on rides  TTD as well for the speed and view.

Seriously it has to be those two, they so far have been the best coaster experience to ride at night, I think it is the speed with Millie and the view of the surroundings and a feeling of not quite sure where your going with Mavvy.

The bugs are what kills it on MF for me Beans, at least in the front row (my favorite place to ride). I once had to help a girl remove a huge bug from the back of her eye. It was disgusting & she said it hurt like hell! I only ride in the last row at night; even though I did do the front with my sunglasses on (couldn’t see too much though). Maybe if I wore goggles I could agree with you.
BLSC is a rather different choice Rock. I guess the effects (helicopter machinegun firing, the explosions & flames) would look awesome & the tunnel is probably pitch black. I'll have to give it a try after dark next time.

My favourites would be:

Nemesis & Nemesis Inferno
Vampire front row

Although PMBO was pretty good too!

BTMR in Paris has always been a favourite of mine at night since I was a kid.
The atmosphere of the whole area change at night, making the ride seem different and more fun; and of course, there are tons of re-rides to be had because the queues are mostly non-existant!

Also, Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril is tons better at night.

My four favorite, not in any order:

Millennium Force(only during Halloweekends)
The fog makes this ride truly one of a kind. The first drop is like dropping into the abyss. You are completely blind up until the second hill. After that you plunge back into the fog and are dazzled by the lights from Terror Island. After you exit the second tunnel, you can finally see as you run back to the station.

Maverick
The ride is in the very back of the park and there are no lights except in the canyon. They even turn off the lift hill lights. You can barely see and it changes the ride experience completely. The flash from the on ride photos blinds you for a few seconds, leaving you dazed for a few seconds.

Magnum
Since this ride goes through Soak City, there's barely any lights and it's usually very quiet. On the return trip, you can see the glow over Cleveland.

Top Thrill Dragster
This ride is so fast that all the lights blur as you race by them. As you pull up, you stare at the pitch black sky and then see all the yellow and white dots 420 feet below. You descend and all the lights are blurred as you spiral down. It's a unique experience.

Millennium Force. Its quite amazing on the back rows, you can't see the bottom of the first drop! Loosen the lap-bar a little as well. You dont really get the mass of bugs on the back ether.

Maverick. Wow. And with the rain on front row as well its very intense. Bug hitting on this is quite painfull though.

Inferno. I actually love it in the dark. Yeah, its Thorpe...don't attack me. :--D
