Which Arrow looper is the best? The ones I've ridden have both been incredibly painful (granted, they're the same model from the same era, the Demon clones) to my head, and with a three-concussion resume in my past, I'm not sure if I'm willing to ride it again. In all seriousness, though, which Arrow looper do you prefer?

I really like The Revolution, because the airtime is great and the loop is amazing backwards, great ride for it's size.

I've Ridden

Anaconda (King's Dominion)
Dragon Fire (Canada's Wonderland)
Loch Ness Monster (Busch Gardens Williamsburg)
Viper (Darien Lake)

Not on the list I can think of off the to of my head

Screamin' Demon Six Flags Great Escape

I'd order them as follows

1: Loch Ness Monster
2: Viper
3: Dragon Fire
4: Steamin' Demon
5: Anaconda

I love Loch Ness Monster, but I was impressed with how good Tennessee Tornado was. Short, but surprisingly intense and nearly B&M smooth. The first drop going through a mountain is pretty cool as well.

If you choose your seats carefully Viper at SFMM can be good although i do have a little soft spot for Revolution at BPB just because you get great airtime and it is really smooth

Viper is silk smooth - especially for an Arrow looper.

Diamondback (same Arrow launched loop as Revolution) was a surprisingly powerful ride with lots of g-force, especially in the back.

Canyon Blaster is another smooth Arrow with great theming. The Vekoma trains are a big help with comfort.

Tennessee Tornado is features some fantastic elements, and the most awkward vertical loop. It's shortness is its only downfall.

Corkscrew at Cedar Point is the oldest of the Arrow loopers - the only roller coaster with an older inversion is Revolution (SFMM) which opened 6 days before. Nostalgia aside... WHO THE HELL PUTS AN AIRTIME HILL AFTER A DROP WITH OTSRS!!??

Overall, Viper takes the cake. It is a marvel that a 22 year old ride built with now archaic roller coaster technology is still able to hold up as solidly good.

I'll order the ones I've been on:

1. Fantasia Special - Great first drop into the tunnel. Smoothest Arrow/Vekoma corkscrews I've ever ridden followed by two forceful loops. Cool how the loops are at the end of the ride rather than straight after the first drop

2. Viper (SFMM) - I actually quite enjoyed this one. No particular reason; I just liked it.

3. Loch Ness Monster - Fun. Overrated, but fun.

4. Tennessee Tornado - Would be higher if it wasn't so short.

5. Anaconda - Enjoyed this one well enough, but wasn't rushing around for a reride.

6. Vortex - Might be getting this mixed up with Anaconda. Seemed fairly similar to me from what I remember.

7. Revolution - One of the better rides at Blackpool, though doesn't really fit in with this list.

8. Carolina Cyclone - Remember nothing about it, meaning it can't have been as awful as some of the others.

9. Dragon Fire - Meh. A bit crap really.

10. Dragon - Not nice. Not fun. Not good.

11. Rolling X Train - Decent first drop and loops, but dire, dire corkscrews

12. Corkscrew (CP) - Pretty much detested it. **** nostalgia; it's ****.

They're Arrow trains, not Vekoma. The same as the ones used on Drachen Fire at BGW, Cyclone at Dreamworld, as well as Corkscrew at Toshimaen.

^ Ah, thanks for that! I never realized that.

All Arrow loopers are vile due to my height. Their OTSRs are just too painful for me to stand anymore...glad I got a few rides in but I'm pretty much through with them. It's a shame as I like a lot of them aesthetically and Corkscrew at Silverwood was one of my first steel coasters.
