Yeah, the limited time engagement for Batman The Ride Backwards ends on July 7th and the following day Viper will begin running backwards for a limited time. Viper running backwards is just supposed to be during the time that Batman The Ride will be down while they change the train back to the forward facing chassis.
So for the ride itself, I got to try it the day before Gatekeeper opened and I really enjoyed it.

For some reason it didn't seem as disorientating or vomit-inducing as I thought it would be. In fact, the coaster didn't feel as forceful to me as it does going forward, especially in the back row. But then, it's not really the back row.
[qoute][/quote] The back row is missing because of loading/unloading. The front row queue is emply since there are no seats there because they've been turned around and the back row queue puts you into the (normally) second to last row of seats that have been turned around. Because of the station layout there was no way to load/unload the back row of seats, so they left them off.
I think you can see what I mean in the off-ride video station shots.

It was a very gloomy, windy, rainy, cold day so I didn't take many photos.
It's not like you can really tell that the coaster is going backwards in photos anyway.
And the back of seats doesn't look as nice as a bunch of screaming riders.
But this shot sure looks a lot better with the riders facing this way.
The biggest difference I could feel was the way the coaster pulls you...
...through the loops rather than pushing you through them.
Forward facing is definitely better for taking photos.
What I really liked about the park doing this is that they also restored many of the original effects...
...including audio, as well as smoke in the station.
