What's new

Amanda Thompson

Check ebay every now and then. I got it from there years ago on DVD. It is actually a great watch, so I then got Alton's 'Park Life' version, which is awful.

If you dont know much about the Avalanche accident, its definitely worth watching. Even my non-coaster-geek partner found it interesting.

It may not be a sudden thing (I've been out of the loop somewhat) but why are so many of the 'main' theme park forums acting like absolute inbreds as of late?

^ I agree.... I've noticed it over the last year or so. Fanboys are becoming worse than ever, and literally slate every other park for anything they do. Its really sad & childish, and gets on my **** tits. Thats why I've given up on most dedicated park forums.

Were all enthusiasts for a reason aren't we?

How can we trust someone who puts petrol in their diesel car to run a theme park? :p
To be fair, that's quite a common thing to do. My dad's done it before. I don't understand what making a mistake with your car has to do with running an entertainments business.

I have to say there is a fake (obviously trying to be a spoof and taking the mick out of ride sponsorship) Ian Crabbe (Alton Towers manager) profile on Twitter and I suspect that is someone from TTF, so it's not just fanboys for other parks having a go.

I do like fake accounts, it makes me lol. Reminds of the CoasterFarce website.

The fake Amanda account tagged CF in a tweet the other day.

I smirked and then carried on masturbating.

Can we also be careful not to slag off other websites. Back on topic now...

Late to join in with this one but wanted to add my thoughts.

I don't agree with everything that Amanda has done at Pleasure Beach, removing the Log Flume being the biggest thing that upset me and the opening hours aren't ideal really, I do think 10am to 6pm (8pm depending on time of the year) just isn't right for the Pleasure Beach.

However, the introduction of the entrance fee appears to be keeping out the idiots of society, the fountain and food area has given that part of Pleasure Beach a new lease of life and is a great place to chill out. Nick Land is looking fantastic and is likely to be a hugely popular investment, even when PB is quiet overall, Nick Land is packed full and it's great to see the families flooding back to PB, showing that the over the top moaning about the food ''ban'' and the entrance fee, aren't putting anyone off tbh.

Pleasure Beach is back on the up after a rocky few years, we will see nothing but progress from now and this is mainly down to Amanda and her team, who have stuck by what they see as right for the Pleasure Beach despite many people disagreeing with her decisions.

My main wish really is that the opening hours change to something like 11:30am to 9pm as they used to be in Amanda's early days, that is much more suitable for PB's target audience imo.
