So Ripsaw and Flume are indeed removed:

That just looks like routine winter maintenance to me. I couldn't find the source of the photos after a quick look on their website/forum. Where did you find them?

^Someone on this app called "QuizUp" under the Amusement Park category posted them. The RipSaw one was from Towers Times, so I assumed they all were from there. Could be wrong though. Changing original post to not start any false rumors.

I really love HUSS Top Spin rides but Alton - as many other parks - should come to a German funfair and see what thrilling exciting programs they could do. I rode Ripsaw and boy the program was ultra-boring with no multi-spins. And: If it's over 20°C use the water fountains to spray the riders - will result in great screams!

They've probably drained the flume's area to pick up any pennies people might have dropped in there.

Seriously though, rather impressed by the drainage. I wonder where they pump the water to.

Interesting image of Ripsaw. Was it taken by a drone or something?

Find it strange that an Image of Ripsaw as emerged but no pictures of Air and all the development around have.

Makes me think that Ripsaw picture isn't from this year.

That's what I wondered. TT usually have someone do a flyover at some point so there might be images then.

I had an email from somebody saying they've seen Ripsaw in parts in the car park. Anybody know if that's true?

Just a guess here, but maybe they're just relocating the queue line to ground level like Chessington did.

One thing that really pisses me off with park chains - and this isn't just Merlin - is inconsistent H&R at different sites. If, for example, running multi train coasters in the rain is unsafe at Cedar Point, why is it perfectly safe at Kings Island? If dueling trains is unsafe at Islands of Adventure, why wasn't it at the ...Singapore? park.

Maybe Ripsaw isn't leaving just yet, maybe. Or maybe its going to be used for parts for Rameses... To be honest, the fact they seem to be rather delicately taking it apart, rather than wrecking it all and chucking it in a skip, implies to me that they are doing improvement works, not removal.

Yep, what Joey said, it's been placed to nicely to give the impression of it being scrapped.

Wouldn't they just move it aside if it was going to be replaced rather than to the car park? Do they usually do maintenance work in the car park or use it for storage? I saw a comment on the video suggesting that it could have been moved to get blade out but I can't even remember the queue layout as I haven't been in so long (and haven't even ridden ripsaw anyway).

Yeah they might not have the space directly there, could need to get vehicles through or the area might be a mess for the food loop construction.

AstroDan on TST has said it's definitely gone and won't be back, he's normally pretty reliable with good connections

To be honest, I don't doubt that the rumoured ride closures will happen. But I just don't understand why the park haven't just been upfront and said 'We're closing these rides down, it's part of our proposed TLC plan, and will pave the way for an even better Alton Towers'. It's clear and simple.

But instead, they've got the rumours floating about, which are worming there way into any article about Towers. Surely that doesn't help improve the park's image and makes it more difficult to shift themselves away from negative press?

If it has gone, why?

Admittedly, it was run on an awful setting for it's entire life, but it still looked the part (and I do love a (good) Topspin), but this now just leaves a; Tea cups, Waveswinger, Enterprise, and Pirate Ship....

You could get it on a good cycle every now and then. I've been lucky enough to have been on it on a multiple spin performance once.

Ultimately they are prone to cracking and weld repair almost every year, and it is just not financially viable to keep in operation - in their view.

Photos of Ripsaw in pieces in the car park have surfaced on the Towerstimes forum. Can't share on mobile very easily but not hard to find.
