Yeah I remember reading about this on TPR. Very very sad, and you notice, you got Chinese and Japanese theme parks that never really have a lot of accidents but when they do they're worse than some in the US and UK. Dreadful.

That's terrible. I was wondering, is this ride like mission Space? It seemed that way in the articles.

^It's (sort of, I think) where the new GCI woodie is going:

I said:
I've just been having a bit of a look around, and found out that Knight Valley opened a couple of years ago and is part of OCT East. So, it's owned by the same people as Happy Valley, but is on the other side of Shenzhen, about 20-30 miles away.

The whole place has been built as a kind of "eco" park, is set around China's biggest seashore waterfall (300m wide and 42m high), and already includes quite a lot of rides, including a 924m long log flume (longest in the world?).

It looks absolutely gorgeous!

Anyway, here are some links:

Ian'll be excited to know that they have a Funicular railway.

Oh, yeah, terrible accident, thoughts to their families, yada yada yada....

Ohhhhh, thats bad. Does anyone know of any other China coaster accidents?

A bit more info has leaked on this accident, well, maybe not leaked, but I've found an interesting article.

The highlight of the article is the computer generated simulation of the accident...

How bad a person does it make me that I lol'd at that?

(as did the comment at the bottom of the article posted by a user called "annoyed")

What made me laugh more is that a big lovely plentyoffish.com advert came up in the middle of it all, reminding me that amongst all the death and destruction (and comically sobbing and writing people at the end) a hot girl MAY have messaged me! Ka-ching!

^^ Was it the crying noises at the end? That's what tickled me.

That's actually the funniest video ever. It's like a ghetto version of the start of Final Destination 3.

I think it's interesting that when something like this happens on the other side of the world, it's "funny", but whenever there's an accident closer to home we get all that "my thoughts are with their families" bollocks.

That's not a criticism by the way (I laughed at the video, too), but it happens all the time in UK newspapers as well; Little Maddie TM has the whole nation in tears for months on end, while dozens of people being horrifically killed in India/China/wherever becomes instantly funny.

It's really not funny at all, the situation is absolutely horrible, but the video was just so poorly done. I don't think anyone finds the fact that they died funny at all, and if they do, they're sick.

Nobody finds the fact people died funny Tay. They find the animation depicting it funny.

Without going into the reasons people find things funny, it's the fact that such a tasteless, and poorly made animation was produced that makes it funny. Death isn't funny, crap videos that serve no purpose about the deaths are... Or something...
