$452 Million Expansion for Hong Kong Disneyland

This is absolutely amazing, the concept art for Mystic Manor and Grizzly Gulch just got me sooooo excited, seems Hong Kong Disney will finally make it's way onto my 'want' list!

I love the fact that since Eisner has ****ed off Disney seem to be back on top form, I'm so relieved for them =]

Oh my, I think I can see which the best Disney park is going to be ina few years...

That Mystic Manor concept is just phenominal. The storyline, theming and overall ride looks fantastic. Them type of trains are also used in Labyrinth of the Minotaur in Terra Mitica aren't they?

^I haven't been to Terra Mitica, but I'm confident in saying no.

If it's the same type as used in Pooh's Honey Hunt in Tokyo, which I strongly suspect it is, then the only ride that uses anything similar at the moment is Aquatopia, also in Tokyo, but that doesn't seem to use the technology in the same way.

It's a completely trackless system. The cars just glide around the floor, seemingly quite randomly. The cars are all individually controlled by something similar to GPS. I'm not too up on my technology, but perhaps somebody can explain it better.

Anyway, the system was developed by Disney and cost tens of millions. I just don't think it's something that Terra Mitica could 1. get their hands on and 2. afford.

I only said Terra Mitica's attraction because that also is a trackless system and can spin, turn and glide about in every which way.

Obviously Disney wouldn't have the same type, but I'm sure it'd be a bit similair because how many different types of gliding, spinning and turning trackless rides could there possible be? They're extremely similair.

So basically this is an 'in house' variation of the same type of technology?

Here's a link to the ride I'm reffering to LINK

^That actually does sound incredibly similar, yeah. Is it fairly new? I'd never heard of it until now, and Terra Mitica's ride line up has never really impressed me before. My bad.

NO way, that looks awesome! I love the lava room, the cold room, and the egyptian room. The one with the four cars looks pretty awesome to.. Hell, the whole thing does, and the exterior is badass as well.

A little too excited for Mystic Manor. There's loads of rumours flying around about it now being a 3D attraction. Has anyone heard anything?!

Really? I think that'd be kind of gash =// I haven't heard anything about that though, where'd you hear that Mark?

A lot of them are on Disney pages on Twitter. I saw them on my phone so will try and get a link or screen capture or something for you all. As I said I know they're rumours but am wondering what (if any) credibility they have to them.

There were stories sometime ago that the budget had been cut etc, but never actually saw anything to confirm this.

It was more to do with the ride type though. At first it was meant to have the system they use on the Pooh ride but people said they changed this to the same ride type as the other mansion rides.

There's a video up on the CF front page, but I can't see where it's mentioned in a topic yet, so I'll throw it in here.

Mystic Manor is now open. I tried not to watch the POVs because I'm seriously hoping to get back to the park at some point, but I caved. It looks amazing and so completely different from any of the other Haunted Mansion attractions. It has the trackless vehicles which were first rumoured but then debated because of budgeting, and luckily no 3D. The special effects are just ridiculous.

Anyway, there are two different POVs here. The first room is taken from two different angles, which must mean that cars travel in pairs through the various scenes.

It shocked me just how good this is.

People kept on about budget cuts and it being a shooter.

Well this ride is just simply fantastic, so want to go.

Typical CF.

Possibly one of the best dark rides ever created opens, and no **** 's interested.

Rumour based on nothing that something might happen at Epcot in the next 5 years, and every bastard's listing the countries and rides that they think should be getting built.

^Haha so true.

I've been having many discussions with people about just how perfect this new attraction is. Apparently there are several ride effects that are physical so you can't tell from the video. Still trying to find out what's true and what isn't though. One thing is for certain though, the ice room is freezing cold and the Tiki room is really hot. I'm still trying to get over how incredible some of the effects are and the fluid movements of the monkey animatronic <3 <3 <3

When I showed my Mum the POV last night she said 'It just looks like all the other haunted house rides'. Silly Mother knows nothing.

It almost made me cry with joy, absolute perfection, likeable characters, **** insane special effects and just, I WANT IT!

Really want to try it to get the full effect, but so far away <//3 I'm thinking 2015.

My god, beyond amazing! Perfection! I truly forgot how good Disney is and why everyone goes there. It has just been so long! If I ever go on a worldwide tour of coasters, HK Disneyland will be a stop.

This looks... ridiculously outstanding.

In fairness, Gavin, you've not even had much to say on this and youve BEEN TO THE PARK. The reason this is quiet is because no one on here has been. AND on top of that, few people here care for Disney anyway. AND on top of that dark rides are incredibly hard to judge from photographs and videos alone...

Though that last part is perhaps in this things favour, because despite that fact it looks incredible.

I find it a bit of a tragedy though, that whilst Hong Kong gets this, Florida got The Little Mermaid.
