[2013]Walibi Belgium: Turbine becomes Psyké Underground!

Opening of Psyké Underground is nearly there! As we may believe Walibi Belgium it is a matter of days untill the ride finally opens!

So yeah, got spited the other day. Park employee's saying it will not open until August now. There is still a lot of ground work to be done, and capping off the far side of the tunnel. And some painting it seems. (This was Monday by the way)
 
August? Who told you that?

Anyway, Walibi Belgium announced a couple of days ago that the official expection from the coaster is already finished and Psyké Underground is set to open very soon. The second tube around the far end spikes is nearly finished and the only thing next to be done is install the ventilationsystem and the coaster will open.

Well, typical Walibi operators. They love to joke around with visitors telling them things that are not true.

Psyké Underground is officialy finished and is ready to open. The ride is now having testruns during the whole day. Just in case if their would be any other defuncts or technical problems.

If everything goes the way it should, Psyké Underground will open now friday. However, if something might go wrong, the park will announce the official openingday now wednesday.

That genuinely is the funniest thing I've heard - what a guy.
 
And finally...now friday Psyké Underground will open for press and fans, saturday it will open for public!

I'm not sure if this is good or bad news really! Great that its opening but we're (6 of us) supposed to be visiting the park on Friday.

Does "Press and Fans" include enthusiasts and if so, what do we need to do to get on there list to let us have a ride? :p

Really good fun ride! Really re ride able!
Walibi have done a really good job on this one! :)

I'm so happy the coaster was saved as it's the only 1 of its type left in Europe & the flywheel is now on show. I was looking for more lights, lasers & dry ice esp in the covered ends, but it's still a good make-over.

How does the new launch system feel compared to the original one..?

I haven't done Psyké Underground yet. I'm going to Walibi Belgium tomorrow, so I'm very curious actually!

Anyway, from what I've heard, the launch is not the same as the one with the flywheel. I have done Turbine multiple times and I just loved the launch. Being launched from 0 kmph till 85 kmph was amazing. Very brutal, very loud, very fast. From the most recent reactions, the intensity of the launch depends on which place you are sitting. It would be the best frontseat or backseat.

But the best comments still come from the loop, which is still as impressive and intens as before. I'm really looking forward to ride this baby tomorrow.
 
Yes, massive thanks to Kristof, Jeroen and the rest of the PR team that let us in during the fan preview. A whole hour to goon over the re-theme and re-ride as much as we liked.

The launch isn't intense but it gradually builds into a very decent launch. That loop is insane, going backwards was so disorientating that it made Smiler feel tame. The new theme song is amazing, we all fell in love with it.

I was expecting more lighting etc but what they have done is really great.
