How many new coasters did you ride in 2009? Did you get more new coasters that last year? Did any 2009 new coasters get into your top 10?

:)

[New to you]

Well I rode 33 new coasters this year, and it was definitely more coasters than last year, as this was my first proper coaster season and I have no idea how many I got last year but it wouldn't have been as many. 6 new coasters for me got into my top 10 after my trip to Florida: Montu(1) Kumba(2) Kraken(4) Everest(5) Hulk(6) SheiKra(7)

*Out comes the trusty Excel spreadsheet*

New Credits

I only managed 13 new credits this year. Less that I'd hoped for this time last year, but I didn't manage to get the Flamingoland/Lightwater trip done that I had planned to.

Paultons Park - Cobra, Stinger, Flying Frog
Parc Asterix - Goudurix, Tonnerre du Zeus, Périférix, Vol D'Icare, Trace Du Hourra
Gardaland - Mammut, Magic Mountain, Blue Tornado, Sequoia Adventure, Ortobruco Tour

More than 2008?

Unlikely. I can't remember exactly how many I got in 2008, but I had more trips to new theme parks, so I probably got more then. Infact, I think 2009 has been one of my quieter years in general.

Any from 2009 in the top ten

No. Don't get me wrong, I loved some of the rides I got on. Two notable rides being Tonnerre du Zeus and Sequoia Adventure. Tonnerre du Zeus because it kicked ass, literally. I loved it. Good, fast ride, nice layout, fun airtime, and a good laugh. Sequoia Adventure was much better than I thought it would be. OK, it a little uncomfortable, but a really weird experience, especially going over on the top loop. They were my two favourites from 2009.

Shocks - I thought this would be an interesting addition. What ride was the biggest shock to you in 2009?

This was a tie for me. Goudurix was a lot, and I mean a lot, better than I thought it would be. OK, there is the odd slam, but nothing too bad. Nothing like as bad as people make out. It might be new trains, wheels or even that paint job, I don't know, but it was certainly a lot of fun and very re-ridable. Although I would recommend the front. The other one for me was Magic Mountain at Gardaland. This really did suck ass. I wasn't expecting much, but I didn't think any ride could be as uncomfortable as that. It brought me to the brink of blacking out on both loops, both times we rode it and the whole thing was just a big pile of ****.

So yeah, 2009 has been an OK year for me. Nothing exceptional, but a lot of fun all round.

I got a few new coasters:

Saw
Megafobia
Speed
Beastie
Cobra
Treetops
Frog
Stinger

So thats the few. Saw had a brief entry to the top 10, but I think that was just out of excitment more than anything. So it dropped out a little way.

Megafobia replaced it, because obviously, thats just plain awesome! So much fun. I could ride it all day. If Dash is anything like it, I think I'd love it.

Speed was dissapointing, unless in the back then its alright. Bigger is not better with Eurofighters it seems. Nor is straight lines.

Cobra was wicked, fun ride. No complaints.

The rest are kiddies. I never want to ride Beastie again. Death trap.

I got 138 creds this year. That doesn't quite beat last year's 150-ish, but, it's still great!

The new for 2009 creds I did were, um, Saw, Terminator and Blue Fire. Blue Fire and Terminator both hit my top 20, but, not my top 10. Saw sucked.

As for just new for me, X2 was the best by farrrr, and Tatsu, Troy, Expedition GeForce and Colossos also got into my top 20, with Black Mamba and California Screamin' just missing out.

The highlights were by far and above West Coast, Norway and Germany.

Thanks.

I was going to say not many, as it doesn't feel like I've ridden a coaster in ages. I guess the year was actually a lot longer than it feels now. Just looking at my coaster count on here though, and I rode 65 new coasters in 2009. New for me this year:

Dragon Khan - Yes, it's as good as everyone says it is.

Big Boom - Probably the best first drop on any steel coaster outside the dive machines.

Piraten - Love the Mega-Lites

Colossos - Favourite woody after T-Express

Low lights

Space Mountain:Mission 2 - Horrible load of ****. An embarrassment to Disney.

Nessi Superwhatever at Hansa - Yes, it turns out that Schwartzkopf can make crap coasters.

Daemonen - Not awful, just very meh and generally unsatisfying

So I have! I just copied and pasted from my coastercount liston CF. I must've forgotten to add Adventure Island in. BONUS CREDZ!!!!

The only new coasters which I rode this year were:

Cliffhanger, Blackgang Chine
Skyways, Clarence Pier
Caterpillar Capers, Camelot
Dragon Flyer, Camelot
Junior Dragon Coaster, Camelot
Knightmare, Camelot
Whirlwind, Camelot
Mumbo Jumbo, Flamingoland
Klondike Gold Mine, Funland Amusement Park
Super Dragon, Funland Amusement Park
Woody's Children's Coaster, Funland Amusement Park
Cobra, Paultons Park
Flying Frog, Paultons Park
Stinger, Paultons Park
Mine Train, Sandham Rides
Saw, Thorpe Park

That's a total of 15 for 2009, which is less than what it was in 2008 due to going to more parks with more coasters.
Looking at that list, 2009 for me was just a whoring year. Nothing major except for Saw and Mumbo Jumbo.

I don't really have a top 10, but if I did then Mumbo Jumbo would make #9/10.
The only shock for me was Mumbo Jumbo, I really liked it which I thought I wouldn't.

62 New Creds

Highlights obviously being things like Voyage, Diamondback, Beast, Phantom's Revenge, Evel Knievel, Jack Rabbit, and Mr. Freeze.

81 new coasters within 10 countries (England, Ireland, N. Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden & Finland)

Conquered 2 countries (Ireland and N. Ireland)

Not a bad year with over 50 park visits.

Notable coaster types gained: Intamin Inverted coasters, Intamin half pipe, Volare, Vekoma GIB, Gerstlauer Launched coaster and many more!

59 new coasters for me, most of which are on Taylor's list.. and I went to Cali/Las Vegas.

Biggest surprise? Cornball Express.. left field Top Tenner. The airtime was simply amazing. X2 is higher, but I kinda expected good things from it. Evel Kinevel was also a big surprise being that most of the GCI's I've been on have sucked.

Biggest disappointment? Missing Prowler. As the Hawker results showed, it must be a great ride. Too bad we had to miss it. Good thing we are getting it again in 2010. :)

Compared to 2008? I had 53 new credits in 08, so a better year!

0

Worst credit year ever, however I didn't have any holiday (well except for few days scattered throughout the year due to the civil work thing until mid September, then been busy with Uni). Well at least I can pretty much promise next year'll be better

Pretty good for me, actually. I got, in order of riding:

Stealth
Flying Fish
Nemesis Inferno
Lisebergbanan
Kanonen
Balder

Which is a whooping 6 new rides. In 2008, I got a tad fewer, at four.

Too bad there's nothing in sight for 2010... or 2011...

Only 6 new coasters for me. Would of been 7 if Mumbo Jumbo was open on my visit but it was broke the day I went. :p

I should get quite alot next year cause I'll be going to Florida for 2 weeks in June/July so I'm excited for that. :)

I got 7 new coasters this year.

Saw
Apollo's Chariot
Loch Ness Monster
Big Bad Wolf
Alpengeist
Griffon
Grover's Alpine Express

Definitely quality over quantity.
