That's a bit premature isn't it? So you've got a 200ft tall intamin megacoaster with winged trains, airtime hills, ground hugging curves and sweet looking overbanks and you think it looks ****
Why? because you don't like the colour or because it MIGHT have a trim near the end. . .
Rubbish, just because coasters are built around the plot you dont think you could get another coaster there?
Have you seen where infusion is built? You might have to be really dareing and build some parts over/under another coaster
If you plan around the other coasters the land...
I didn't think for a minute there would be any short term plans to remove PMBO, but it does suprise me that the park keep pouring the cash into revolution, IMO it's a poor ride that's outdated.
Surely even when a coaster is one of the owners personal favourites, if it didn't make any business...
^That's taken from the opposite side near the rapids and the top hat on Stealth though isn't it? or have I got my bearings mixed up. I thought the lift hill on Swarm pointed towards the car park?
I had hoped the drop would be at its steepest angle for longer but I guess you'd need the drop to be a good 30-40ft taller to really pull that off. At 85° it's still 10° steeper than the latest B&M hypers and 5° steeper than Leviathan so i'm confident that it will be a good start to the ride...
I can't help but agree with Furie and Hixee here. I used to enjoy going on PMBO, it would be the first coaster of the day and it would just be a thrill being that high up. Now I just don't enjoy it as much for pretty much the same reasons already stated, even if it had steeper hills I probably...
^ I definatly agree with that, didn't really notice until that picture though.
It reminds me of being in a 4x4, sitting high up and overlooking your surroundings, then getting out and being in a sports car much closer to the ground, it gives a heightened sense of speed.
I think sitting above...
I'm not sure how many Spanish enthusiasts are on this site, but won't this be the only major, truly airtime based coaster in Spain? Just off the top of my head, none the other coasters in Parque Warner, Parque de Attractions, Terra Mitica and Port Aventura have airtime filled layouts, except...
^I thought with Maverick forces did also have a part to play in the removal of the heartline:
Quote from wikipedia 'three 40-foot (12 m) track sections after the second launch needed to be replaced. These sections made up the heartline roll element and put excessive stress on the trains, which...
I much prefer airtime, whether its ejector or floater I just love not touching the seat until a drop bottoms out. First drop on Diamondback is awesome for that if your in one of the back seats.
I vote Saw. I don't find it painfull as others are saying. I think the indoor section and the last inversion are the best parts.
Stealth is a great ride and I do enjoy the launch, but i've never noticed any airtime on it. I think the main problem with stealth is the queue combined with the ride...
^ The layout of the Intamin Giga coasters so far is pretty much typical of a Mega Coaster (Banked turns and airtime hills) so I assume it fits in that catagory. The term Mega Coaster doesn't have any specific height requirements.
That's why i've voted Mega. I love the prefab woodies and the...
Re: Mirabilandia |"DiVertical"| Intamin (?) Water Coaster
I was under the impression that the two rides were different models, I went on Shoot the rapids a couple of years back and thought it was great.
I still thought that the intention of this ride was a bit of a splash at the bottom of the...
The two main points seem to boil down to:
1. Will a woodie bring people to the park?
2. Will it ride like crap in 10 years time?
In answer to number one, I don't believe that people would look at a new GCI and automatically think its going to ride like Grand National. If you put an advert on...
I feel the opposite actually. I prefer the structure of a woodie to steel beams. Something like this - http://niekee.net63.net/wp-content/uplo ... -klein.jpg - To me is more aesthetically pleasing than the average steel coaster.
I knew i'd left that one too open (no more jokes please  )
I thought it might look cool on the station roof but i'm guessing its going to be on the ground near the entrance or something.
Re: New "like nothing else" coaster at Alton Towers 2013
This seems to pretty much sum up marketing at AT.
Also I guess the "like nothing else" statement doesn't have to refer to the whole concept, just like the 'worlds first' could be just one aspect.
I think the term "like nothing else"...
