^^ You could well be right with the launch-brake-layout theory, but I hope it doesn't happen much more because it's just annoying. It's obvious that the only reason a ride like that is build is to claim the record, it's like a greedy kid snatching something that looks cool and then not having a...
When I visited TP again in March I went back on Saw, now I see what the whole fuss is about. It went from being my favourite coaster at the park to about 4th. I'd ridden it around 3 times before and never had a problem, it always seemed very smooth and of solid build, when I rode it this year...
Re: Mirabilandia |"DiVertical"| Intamin (?) Water Coaster
^ Not sure, I guess the lift platform must have some tyres on it to move the boat onto the drop but not sure if they're supposed to really launch it forward, I don't see how else it could gain speed though.
I still don't like the look...
Actully other than leviathan which is in Canada, this will be taller and faster than the other beemers in the states, plus like Leviathan it has a speed hill which will give a real good dose of airtime without you having to sit in the back row like on most hypers. The ampersand is unique and...
I can't imagine a traditional chain lift ever taking the title of tallest coaster again. Maybe a coaster with a cable lift could do it, but I reckon the cost factor will prevent it from happening.
Generally i'd say there is corrolation between the time the ride takes to reach its highest point...
POV looks great, nice pacing.
Still hoping there will be more theming on the tunnel, maybe PA will add to it in the off season like Heide park did with Krake.
If they were able to get permission to build the Big one and Ice blast then height can't be too much of an issue either. But this rumour has come from the greatest source of all time!
I've been on Flight deck at Kings Island already which I think is roughly the same, to be honest it doesn't stand out as a great ride but then again Vortex looks like it's in a better setting. I'll never get chance to ride the one Suspended coaster I really wanted to ride, my list above would be...
I used to go out two to 3 times a week and drink pint after pint of Magners before moving onto jagerbombs then passing out on a sofa or bench.
Now I drink much less, mainly because i'm a tight-arse. An occasional glass of wine with a meal and the odd bourbon and coke when i'm unwinding at home...
^To be fair if Minebuster didn't exist i'd still want to go just for the other two, but it still looks better than the remaining rides IMO, I tend to enjoy old out and back woodies like the Racer, Blue Streak and Amerian Eagle.
Wooden coaster :--D
I would normally say mega coaster + >300ft drop tower, but since you specifically said a new park, it ain't gonna happen.
Then again a decent wooden coaster is looking just about as bloody unlikely, i'm moving to Germany/Holland/USA/China/anywhere esle in the world that...
^ It would be interesting to see RMC re-model a racing coaster, but it would take a LOT of work. Colossus looks like the height of the first drop should be increased or at least the chain lift speeding up, it really looks like its crawling around the corners - then again I thought that about...
Erm, what the hell was he thinking?
If it turns out that he did it to retrieve something he dropped onride from the tunnel i'll lose all hope for humanity.
I'd rather see them install an airtime machine of one type or another, by all accounts Colossus is rough and Apocalypse doesn't look that great either. I don't think the park is short of inversions regardless of whether it's preceded with a launch.
Re: Heide Park 2014
That would be epic. I think theres a good chance that if the permit is already in place they will build a giga at some point to take the Europe's tallest title. If they can only do it using the land at the back of the park then I don't think it will be anytime soon...
Personally i'd have preferred to see a water effect, it would have still added to the onride experience and been more aesthetically pleasing, it would have also fitted much better with the rides theme. I guess the park have gone for the lower running costs.
It still bugs me as Ben pointed out...
^ I did catch a glimpse of some keyhole mist effects on one of the videos but didn't know they had more planned. Are 6F likely to keep all these effects running through the years? It would be a shame if they slowly dropped off like so many others.
