The coaster is complete! Here are some snaps of the key points in the ride.
Immelman after launch.
Airtime hill over the station building.
Dive out of second airtime hill.
Second overbank.
Heartline roll.
And into the brake run!
Finally an overview of the...
Well i'll have the rest of the ride up soon, I'm away for the weekend but it'll be done when i get back.
If anyone has any links to support tutorials i'd appreciate it, i'm struggling at the moment!
A new coaster being constructed in the heart of an english forest.
Holt is a launched Eurofighter featuring two inversions, three airtime hills. The launch reaches 47mph. Construction will be completed soon!
It's my first 'proper' coaster so don't expect ultra realism or anything...
I thought this too.
You can see Rita in the picture, and quite a long way away too. There might be lots of footers as this is the point where the train turns around and heads back (i can't remember the exact design).
I imagine if you used them to actually slow the train considerably it would end up either spraying an awful lot of water or being too forceful on the actual splash maker.
I was a bit late riding it but i got on it in the end (after queuing over an hour due to technical problems...).
The first time was fantastic and it really blew me away. I was expecting a relatively average ride after what people had said, but i'd say it's easily one of the best rides at...
Excuse me if this is just a really stupid comment ^_^
But couldn't the apparent lift segment which was shown earlier just as likely be a station segment?
I would but it's not finished :(
I still need to add most of the graphics, fix general bugs, create a menu, allow the level editor to interact with the main game mode seamlessly (to test levels), create all the server scripts for the online content and database stuffs. It's a lot of work but...
Nearly there! (i said that last year too).
I'm just off to Thorpe Park for 'research'.
I'll be uploading some unique progress videos to facebook soon, they won't be on the youtube account. They'll show some of the new coaster types and the splashdown effects etc.
I haven't ridden any, but the scoop part seems to just be a hollow tube which channels the water upwards, so i imagine it has almost no effect on the speed of the train. Any confirmation?
I just noticed Stealth is down today.
The last two times ive visited Thorpe, Stealth hasn't been running. It would be a complete bummer to miss it a third time.
Does anyone know if it's a big problem? I'm going tomorrow ;__;
Do splashdowns only occur on B&M coasters, or do other manufacturers also do them (in the sense of scoops on the back, not a 'log flume' dive)?
Are they currently only on Dive Machines and Hyper Coasters?
How much do they slow the train down?
