It's closed. There is a road next to the constructionsite where all the pics are taken.
the thing is that the same road is used for the crew when they transport stuff, so it's really small and filled with stuff.
Yeah, It's huge. When I rode the local train a couple of days ago I saw the support for the first inversion (which is as tall as the immelmann and this was when the immelmann wasn't finished) I was baffeld by its size. Wait until the GP will see it... (the same goes for the entire coaster, this...
I went to Linnanmäki today. Here's the scoop:
The Immelmann is almost complete, same for the first inversion. you can even see two supportbeams that aren't connected to anything. I speculate these will be used for the immelmann.
They have started to put up more supports, this time on the...
Yeah, it's a burden to get here. The fact that there really isn't any other great coasters here except for quite a lot rare credits (one of the only two Intamin inverts, the first gci outside of the US, the only Mack e-motion still operating and a side-friction Woodie with brakemen (that ACE...
That's probably it. Would be logical, since they have only worked on the parts that are next/below the station. The helix, second launch, tophat and diveloop/immelmann hasn't even gotten more work than some supports that were built before the 2018 season, so that it would be out of the way and...
I doubt it, since its behind that wall. However, it could be for access to some other vital part of the construction. e.g. one trackpiece was fastened to another trackpiece, but it was not fastened to a support that was perfectly lined up with that piece. It is now fastened, but it took like a...
Heya! Amusement insiders recently posted a construction update on Taiga! In the video we can see that the turn after the trick-track is installed. Also installed are the lower most parts of the immelmann.
Since this is a rumored spinning coaster, I'm waiting to see how this stacks up to Maurer, Mack and Gerstlauer spinning coasters (hope I didn't forget any big names)
It's some kind of chimney. There is some kind of powerplant underground there, that is operated by helen (shortened from Helsingin energia, Helsinki's energy) https://www.helen.fi/en/company/
I made a mock-up of the Taiga layout in paint 3D: (Sorry for making the pic look small, this was the largest file possible for the thread XD)
Red: launch
Green: inversion
Blue: regular (banked) track
Yellow: break-run and station
Pink: Maintenance track
(all track that gets cut off because of...
Heya! I made an Instagram account, where I post all my pictures of Taiga. https://www.instagram.com/pcoasters24/
I was today at the construction site. In the 10min I was there, they installed two supports, with two supports laying on the ground and two trackpieces being driven to the site from...
Yeah, I agree. I think they are trying to emulate the feeling of the Taiga eagle soaring trough the wind. Yes, it looks kinda sucky but we'll have to wait and see.
yeah, it definitely is individual. I haven't been on I305, so I can't compare. However, I feel that this will be one of the more intense parts of the coaster, if not the most intense!
wow, that turnaround at the station (the part that has recently been constructed) looks like it can pull some really heavy G's. I bet some will even grey out there, seen as after that turn the next element is a trick-track (which is kinda low G so people can regain consciousness).
Some pictures taken (21.10) from inside the park at the last day of operations:
the last turn into the break-run
the start of the first launch (back) and the end of the break-run (front). you can see when the track stops inclining.
more break-run and launch (also station)
completed transfer...
Lol, That bird was placed in the theater where they showed the POV-video... I thought that would be a prop at the entrance. I would have never thought that it would be the train.
Update:
Linnanmäki has released the official POV for Taiga! However, you can only see it at the park. I saw it yesterday, and it was beautiful! This fan-made POV is really close to the real deal! The only things that are different in the real one is that the second launch isn't as close to the...
