Yes but it doesn't take a genius to work out it's pretty serious. I'm surprised no members of the public made the call...
And given the nature of the incident the Fire and Rescue Service should have been requested during the initial call... regardless of Alton having their own 'response' or...
Alton Towers Smiler crash: Park 'shut until probe over' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-33002283
On this article the Chief Exec says the park can only reopen when the investigation has concluded.
It also has an account from one of the passengers and he confirms they were on the lift for...
Good point there but they have many CCTV cameras monitoring the ride which I assume can be viewed in the control room. Obviously the cameras are not going to get every angle and I've only spotted them on the first lift hill and a couple of other spots. Wonder how much they can show.
And the 'eye-witness' speaking to BBC news reckons it was held on the lift for like ten minutes but continued. Good aerial coverage from BBC news chopper.
Hope everyone makes a recovery
Re: Oakwood 2014 - New coaster?
The press are saying Oakwood are supposed to be announcing their new £2 million pound investment today... nothing on Facebook or their website yet.

Re: "Bjorn This Way" | Sweden | 26-28/07/14
In hindsight I can laugh about it but I admit when the cop stopped at my isle and said my name I was pretty much crapping myself!
Don't worry, the car journey didn't put me off at all, it was entertaining! haha
Re: "Bjorn This Way" | Sweden | 26-28/07/14
Well it was lovely to meet more CFers on my very first live, thanks to everyone for being friendly and cool. I was impressed with the hospitality we had from the parks and their management, really appreciate it and of course a big thanks to Ian for...
A bit late but there's a TV program called "World's Strangest" on the Discovery channel UK. The episode tonight partly featured John Wardley at Thorpe Park. John meets 'Emma Basset', a girl who's life was saved by riding a roller coaster.

Spring time last year I decided to take my 5 year old brother to Oakwood to get his first credit. Instead of starting off on the kids coasters I decided to get him right in the deep end and take him on Megafobia. Megafobia is a brilliant CCI coaster with lots of airtime, especially in the back...
I've used both NL1 and 2 and once you get used the new editor in NL2 I do find it easier to create tracks, I find the coasters I build now are a lot smoother. At first though it will be confusing especially if you're used to NL1 editor.
Finally arrived home after 4+ hours of driving because of accidents on the M4 :/ But I didn't mind delays because of the fun I had today.
Thank you for the excellent company I had to spend my very first time in Thorpe Park, thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to future trips.
Glad I was...
What is this "Maximum Force" coaster you like, I've never heard of it?
This is a fun forum for discussion of coasters, not a forum to try and get some new clients if that's what you're really here for?
Anyway, welcome to the forum
