We didn't bother with Samurai!

Inferno was only running one train.

Saw was juddery.

Sean (Nemesis_guy) was happy to get on Colossus (which seemed to run really fast today).

Rhys (Goonfield's mate and goon-in-training) and the rest of us couldn't be arsed with Vortex.

Swarm was fab. No fire effect today.

We had several goes on Stealth.

I'll end with a brief "actual" note. Thorpe is always the best way to start the "thrill season" imo. I don't care what anybody says, Thorpe offers the best line up for thrill rides in the UK and I love the park. It was lovely to meet Sean (or Shaun, sorry forgot to ask about spelling) and Rhys. Great as always to catch up with familiar faces. The park was moderately busy, managed 2 x Stealth (1 front), 2 x Swarm (1 x front), 1 x Colossus, 1 x X, 1 x Det, 1 x Inferno, 1 x Saw, I x Fish, 1 x Rush and 1 x Rapids. I sat out of Storm Surge and Rocky Express. Loggers wasn't working.

We had a fab day.

This is the greatest thing since sliced bread driving a VW beetle over the speed limit on the highway with twenty cop cars behind it in space all wrapped up in a cheese quesodilla on fire flying in the air with EDM music playing full blast in the background with Morgan Freeman waving hello in the background.

This has easily earned the goon stamp of approval.

I never thought it would be possible to outdo Ian's birthday post for Furie in Watcha Finkin? but this just did it...

Brilliant idea in homage to 2012Jarrett :p you need to come to the UK!

I have actually BEEN to the UK! My grandparents are from northern France and they took my sister and I there at a very young age and one day we took a ferry across the channel to England.

I wish I could go again, though. Alton Towers and Thorpe Park are both bucket list parks for me. Maybe if I win this March Madness pool I'm in I fly there next summer...

^ And we'll be there to meet you! peep needs to add "Doing a Jarrett" test seat pic to the League of Goons!

Just echoing the call for some Jarrett in the Uk. Super goon needs to come over.
We had a great day, was so much fun doing those photos.
A great bunch of people with loads of laughs, some good coasters and a bucket load of chicken.
Thanks guys.

Not sure I can afford it (I'd really like to try to make it to the Pyeongchang or Tokyo Olympics in the not-so-distant future, the way you see me get about coasters I tend to get about the Olympics when they happen and it always scares the family. :p ) but if I could it's a fab idea. I'd love to meet all of you. I am flying to Vegas across the country in May so I'll see how I do with that, but another issue would be that I'm not sure I could make a transatlantic flight since I'm beyond terrified of flying.

And yes, peep needs to add that. I'd love to see everybody's rendition of a Jarrett picture. :D

I need to come over if I ever can. As I said above, I'm terrified of flying and I intend to go to the Olympics in the next six years, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to afford it.

Glad I provided entertainment all the way from the States, though!

Haha, this is amazing. Poor Jarrett
I actually feel slightly respected that this on-the-fly picture became a sort of meme...

Finally arrived home after 4+ hours of driving because of accidents on the M4 :/ But I didn't mind delays because of the fun I had today.

Thank you for the excellent company I had to spend my very first time in Thorpe Park, thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to future trips.

Glad I was able to do all Thorpe creds - taking me up to a massive count of 23

Hope everybody arrived home safe - Regards, Shaun

Please add "A Jarrett" to the glossary, Ian! It deserves to be there!

And as for Jarrett, I made you a special Seal of Approval for you my good sir!

Hey Shaun, I'm glad you enjoyed your day at Thorpe Park with us. It was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again at Oakwood, if not before.

Tbh, having a Thorpe newbie gave the day purpose. Instead of plodding around turning our noses up at queues longer than 20mins and leaving at 3:30 as usual, we had to make sure that we rode all the coasters and best thrill rides at the park. Something that I think we achieved!
