When I think about it being 'instead' of more queue line, it makes a lot of sense, and I do like ones where you go immediately from the pre-show into the air gates so there's like a reveal of the station and you're immediately going to ride.
That being said, it kind of kills re-rideability for...
Is this expected for Summer 2024 then? seems crazy to have supports arriving but not expect the coaster to open for another 10 months! (Then again, I hate to think how long it was between the supports for Tron arriving in Florida and the opening of that)
This is true, but we visited Ferrari World, Warner Bros World, Sea World and then Motiongate in the same week and none of the other parks were anywhere near as quiet. There was a huge difference between Yas Island (still short queues for any thrill coasters but busy in the family areas and lots...
Didn't notice anything but I don't know what it normally looks like. The whole area is dead, there's like 6 restaurants still open in the shopping area that joins the parks, and dozens of closed shop fronts. We maybe saw 20 other people in all of Motiongate and the hotel we're at here is almost...
We were at Motiongate today and saw the Bollywood Wooden Coaster testing.
Seemed a bit weird with the park being shut for a while now.
Definitely looks like they're not dismantling it!
Just got on this today. Walk on so went for front and back row rides.
It's really fun! No real drops and the launches don't pack much of a punch, but there's a lot of real ejector airtime and some great inversions.
The theming works pretty well when you're on the ride, gives you some fun near...
When I got serious about travelling to a lot of theme parks I toyed with the idea of counting creds, but I quickly realised I just didn't want to spend any of my time at theme parks on rides I didn't care about.
I still find it kind of interesting looking at other people's counts, no idea why.
Pleasurewood Hills just posted this Tweet saying:
So a new coaster on the way? I'd assume it'll just be a kiddie coaster, but that's not going to stop me hoping for something spectacular for my local park!
I might be misremembering but didn't Roller Coaster at BPB not have any restraints in the 90s? I feel like I went on something that felt like going round a coaster track on a sofa.
They still have the three hour time slots, doesn't look like they're going away anytime soon. Locals are annoyed that it's ticketed at all now because you used to be able to just wander through them
Did our first trip to Heide Park today and had a great time. Really impressed with the theming, audio around the park, and the general atmosphere. Had a great time!
Ride operations were terrible but thankfully it wasn't too busy (probably thanks to the current heatwave) so we didn't queue more...
We're going to Hansa and Heide for the first time in a couple of weeks. Definitely got low expectations for Heide, we don't even bother with the Merlin UK parks anymore after our last trip to Thorpe in 2021 was so depressing.
I'm wondering if as the time of coal power plants finally comes to an end in the UK (we had a few months of burning zero coal over the last year) there's suddenly going to be a lot of land available that's in industrial areas so unsuitable for housing, but has great transport links, loads of...
I wonder how much is a difference in planning permission laws and procedures. If creating something new is such a headache (the legal stuff, then even transporting all that steel/wood to an island with fairly poor infrastructure) I imagine lots of the parks try to do it as rarely as they can get...
The Grand National stands out to me, but it might be my age (and its age tbh). When I was younger I remember finding the racing element so exciting and I loved reriding it, was easily my favourite coaster at BPB - when I returned as an adult I absolutely couldn't stand it. It's so rough, the...
