SLC New Trains: Arkham Asylum: Shock Therapy @ WBMW

I rode this back in December 2002, and don't remember much. I don't remember it being as brutal as some other SLCs that I rode later on, though. They don't particularly look very "Vekoma-esque" though, compared to the other new trains that they've been recently been adding to their SLCs. Does...

    "Upstop" in German

I have no idea, but I'm more intrigued as to why anyone would need to know this? Then again, I guess I could add it to my special dictionary of special German words, along with durchfall, dudelsack and extrem-bugeln. My best guess would be "Uppenstoppen"...

    Coaster Counting

I'm a credit whore, so if it's on RCDB, then I'll count it! Although many people seem to count the amount of rides that they've had, regardless of whether or not they've ridden the same coaster before or not. Me on the other hand, I only count individual coasters.

Python at Efteling - New trains again?!

I don't think they were that terrible, considering that I've only heard good things about the KumbaK trains on Sea Viper at Sea World Australia. I guess if you can afford to get new trains, the why the hell not? :--D

    First Rollercoaster Experience Ever!?!

Casey Jr at Disneyland Paris, then Big Thunder Mountain. I believe I was four years old, back in March 1997.

Python at Efteling - New trains again?!

Surely the KumbaK trains couldn't have become so worn out that they needed to be replaced, after only six years of operation? It just seems a little strange to me that they'd produce trains with such a short life span...

Python at Efteling - New trains again?!

I stumbled across Python on RCDB again recently, and noticed that they've decided to replace the trains, yet again. So I guess the story goes, it opened with Arrow trains which were replaced with Vekoma trains in the 90s (you know, those horrible, cramped, round things). Then in 2005, they...

    Corkscrew (Flamingoland) Sold

What? Pleasure Island never owned Corkscrew. Spanish City did though. Unless you're talking about Flamingoland no longer owning Pleasure Island, which wasn't actually that long a go.

Most Promising Manufacturers for the Future

Wouldn't class that as a new concept, if I'm honest. More of an interpretation of Intamins design done right.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE1rMIYzngA Skip to 9:33, talking about the new coaster. Nothing that we already don't know, but just shows the mechanism working. Zierer seem to be stepping up in the industry, quite nicely.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark I never disagreed with his point, I was just pointing out that Th13teen doesn't tilt! :P Th13teen hasn't had any problems with the Drop Zone for a while now. If it goes down, it's usually for an overspeed.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark It has one. The animation is wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaAoH09KAfk "This one cylinder here, does all of the work."

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark Considering that it's just one hydraulic cylinder, I don't think you could get much tilting.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark ^^ I think that's a broken link. I can assure you that Th13teen does not tilt.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark Th13teen doesn't tilt. It has a pre-drop, then the main drop.

Legoland Denmark | Polar X-plorer | Zierer with drop section

Re: New Coaster for Legoland Denmark I'd seen the concept of their vertical drop coaster, from TPR's IAAPA coverage. I guess the only advantage that Intamin have over Zierer, is that all of the mechanical parts are hidden. This is probably a reason why the Zierer model is cheaper as well...

    Corkscrew (Flamingoland) Sold

It's a shame that I probably won't be riding it again, surprisingly I actually enjoyed it. At least it's not being demolished though. I'd like to see it refurbished, but by looking at the park/fairground/car park that it's going to, it's not going to happen. They'll probably just throw some...
