I do remember seeing a claim on BPB's website saying that Big One had a top speed of 87mph.
What about the claim that Desperado opened as the World's tallest Coaster (Even though PMBO opened beforehand and is 5 ft taller)?
As I'm from the north of England I'd like to ask how much does Paultons advertise down south? Advertising the new area well will of course be crucial to gain a large amount of visitors from London / the London Commuter belt that will have a lot of young families.
Untamed, silky smooth and no rattle (although I rode it when it was a week old). In terms of older Coasters, I'd have to say Swarm - No rattle at all from my experience.
Condor is probably the roughest Coaster I've been on but for pain, Smiler has it beaten - A massive backache, num legs, track profiling that would embarrass Arrow Dynamics and it also crushes the gentleman's area.
I personally don't find Infusion too rough. I also find that it has a more exciting, more intense and more unique layout than Black Mamba (I've done 2 standard SLCs compared to 3 inverts with the same combination of inversions).
1. I prefer Icon as Taron doesn't do much for me besides the launches and one moment of floater airtime. In addition, the poorly designed seat makes some of the transitions very uncomfortable.
2. Outside of Nemesis, the AT Coasters either aren't as thrilling as other UK Coasters or not very fun...
Hear's some of mine:
Infusion is the best SLC in the UK
Infusion is better than Black Mamba
Nemesis Inferno is better than Black Mamba
Icon is better than Taron
Lost Gravity is better than Icon
El Condor is better (By that I mean less painful/uncomfortable) than Hero and Smiler
Grand National...
I experienced Untamed on Monday and I would like to ditto everyone's comments - It's excellent. But my god the ride was unreliable (I evacuated from the brake run)!
I rode Smiler today (Row 3, far left) and my back killed for the entire day after said ride which dampened my day at Towers unfortunately.
I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm going out of my way to bash the Smiler but that's just what I experienced.
I'm still rapping my head around some people's opinions on Infusion - When I rode it a few days ago I actually found it to be the smoothest SLC in the UK (I don't find any of them to be too rough) and had the best ride experience of any UK SLC. I had one ride on it where I didn't bang my head...
Didn't everyone say that Steel Vengeance looked slow on it's first test and then it was apparently hauling come official opening day?
Edit: BTW I thought that it looked fine considering that it was a dull overcast day.
I think that they will use all of the cleared land as Paultons already has plenty of room for expansion. Also bare in mind that this new area is likely to contain a lot of rides, potentially making this area bigger than the Lost Kingdom.
Slight re-profiling can help - For example, Orochi/Monster had the transition into the final brake run re-profiling to remove the reported jolt of Raptor. Also Walygator Parc didn't install the mid-course brakes, meaning that it runs a lot faster in the second half.
Re-locations and wear don't...
