Small News From The Theme Park Industry

So it was in storage somewhere for 20 years!?

An Inevitable Trip to Poland - Legendia & Energylandia June/July '24 (Conclusion)

Eek I got spited by the old twin looper back in 2018, I'm returning this September (mostly for Zadra of course) and now I'm worried I'll get my first ever double spite 😬. Like you say it's hardly going to be great but I remember watching it run at the American Adventure when I was a kid and...

Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Doesn't the Shanghai Pirates do something like this? That's clearly the boat from Moana, and with Moana 2 coming out later this year it would make sense for them to roll out some Moana boat rides, my 3yo would love it.

    SeaWorld Orlando | Penguin Trek | B&M Family Launch Coaster | 2024

Sure it's for kids, but a lot of those kids will have just ridden Hagrid's and/or Expedition Everest, maybe even Tron in the same week and this will seem incredibly dull in comparison. 😔

    Formula Rossa SBNO

I did put this in the small news topic a couple of days ago but I guess it got lost: https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/small-news-from-the-theme-park-industry.42689/post-1174713 But yeah 5 months is too long to be explained by a launch cable replacement or any other maintenance activity...

37 minutes at Luna Park Sydney

Thanks for the great report, what's going on with the Wild Mouse - is it still there!?

    Formula Rossa SBNO

I just noticed that according to rcdb, Formula Rossa has been SBNO since 22nd January: https://rcdb.com/4485.htm The Ferrari World website confirms that it is closed until further notice: https://www.ferrariworldabudhabi.com/en/rides/formula-rossa More trouble for the super-fast roller...

Your favourite coasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

We've had this a few times before but the last full-on poll was before Icon and (sobs) the demolition of Wild Mouse so probably due a refresh! Anyway it's Grand National for me - pure balls-to-the-wall classic wooden coaster fun. Yeah it beats you up a bit but it's a small price to pay. The...

Is Hyperia your top UK coaster?

I think Nemesis will always be my number zero coaster, and it has been my UK number 1 since I first rode it 20 years ago, but yep Hyperia is definitely a cut above.

Accident at Gröna Lund - Jetline permanently closed update page 6

Good spot, in full: Which translates as: This is a genuine surprise to me, I had expected it to eventually get new trains and reopen - it will not be easy to disentangle it from Twister, Kvasten and most of all the Wild Mouse so it will be interesting to see how they cope with this. As a...

Quick, phone Knott's and tell them you found it 😂

Cruises Lines | Maurer Spike Coasters | Carnival Cruise Line & Disney Cruise Line | 2025-2035

Are these an upcharge, or can you ride for free if you are on the cruise?

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

A great touch by Thorpe Park today - these certificates were being given out for free at the exit, now in pride of place on our notice board 🙂.

    Why queue for hours?

Luckily we were allowed out of the queue to go to the loo! Had to make do with ice cream and crisps for lunch though as that's all they had at the queue line kiosk 😅.

    Why queue for hours?

It's for the "I was there" moment really, and to enjoy the sense of occasion. I wouldn't have knowingly joined a 6.5 hour queue, but I was with a good friend and the time passed quite pleasantly. It could be another 30 years before we get a ride of this scale on our little island, so I am proud...

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

It had multiple periods of downtime but never more than about 10 mins at a time, nothing unexpected for opening day really. If I had known it would be that long I think I would have given it a miss, but it's done now, got my certificate, so no point complaining 😅.

Thorpe Park | Hyperia | Mack Hyper Coaster | 2024

I got here at 08:30 and got on around 3pm, so 6.5 hours of queueing. Worth it 😁. It's always hard to judge off a single ride of course, but it was everything I had hoped for - smooth, intense, floaty and insane.

Six Flags Great Escape | The Bobcat | Gravity Group Wooden Family Coaster | 2024

T3 is done for at Kentucky Kingdom

Interesting rumour; the only park I could really picture getting this would be M&D's which is currently lacking any big coasters, and the ones it used to have were so bad* that this would actually look like a terrific ride for them, and be the best coaster (ever?) in Scotland. That would be bad...
