    Liseberg Trip and Tale 4/7/2012

I stand corrected, had forgotten about SuperSplash and Western-Expressen. Sincere apologies. :fadein: Heide-Park is almost the double distance away, by bus it is 16 hours and by train circa 14 hours.

    Liseberg Trip and Tale 4/7/2012

It is circa 7 hours by train and that is the only possibility until I obtain a drivers license (which won't be for a few years). By car though it would still be about 5 hours. The ticket price is quite high to go solely for the purpose of riding Speed Monster too, eventhough there are two other...

New Kiddie Area For Liseberg In 2013

Information from their swedish version of the official website; New attractions; New Farfars Bil (granpa's cars), Bike monorail, Mini-freefall ride, Ferris wheel, Mini rollercoaster, plane carousel and balloon carousel (?). Moved attractions; Cykelturen, Knatterally (mini bumper cars) and the...

    Liseberg Trip and Tale 4/7/2012

It is located just behind the Spaceport (where Atmosfear is) in the "Lustgården". You walk through the portal on the backside to get to it. That was what I had assumed as well but the old wheel is still there. To be honest the new one suits much better at its current location then it would have...

    Liseberg Trip and Tale 4/7/2012

It all began in a small house at the swedish countryside when a supportive mother and her coasterfanatic of a son took off in their dull Volvo. It was a cloudy but warm morning, all good set. It had been a whole month since their last visit, and so they were both very excited for the adventure...

    PortAventura opens its 2012 season

I do not doubt that the new colours suits the theme of the area, but regardless the combination of red and blue is among the worst in MY opinion, I have understood you enjoy it and that is great. Additionally I do not believe it would have been better off without a new paint job, but rather...

    PortAventura opens its 2012 season

Probably a bit far into the season to voice about now, however in my very humble opinion the former colour scheme for Dragon Khan was much more appealing (minus the actual track, the new vibrant red is rather a very nice improvement indeed). The new mixture of red and light blue and the toy...

Rides that show potential to be insane but fall short?

Kanonen at Liseberg. It is very great compared to other coasters in this country, but is WAY too short.

    Roller coaster suggestion

Hello I hope it is okay to post this, it is an Intamin double-LSM launched coaster I created as a "suggestion" for a smaller amusement park in my country. I used the Hershey Stormrunner coaster model for the design and the block brakes for a simulated LSM launch (I am uncertain whether there...

Appearance of theme park workers - does it matter?

It is about as important as the inner colour of ones shoes. I couldn't care less what a ride operator looks like as long as they are clean and is keen on what they are supposed to - riders safety. My homepark isn't very strict what I can see, as I've seen both one and three piercings, tatoos...

Should parks stagger opening & ride opening times?

Liseberg has done this for the mountain-based rides as long as I can remember, and it has never had much of an impact on me. All three rollercoasters are open from start and since those usually get more crowded throughout the day (except Lisebergsbanan) than the rides on there, it's almost to...

SF Magic Mountain |"Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom"| Drop Tower

Re: SF Magic Mountain |"Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom"| Drop Towe I second this statement. Being rather tall, the Atmosfear restraints cause a bit of narrow feeling. Even the Kanonen restraints are better. Hopefully they will switch them sometime (wouldn't that make it possible for them to remove...

    Lapbar or Over-the-shoulder-restraints?

Thank you all for your answers.

Most annoying thing at a park.

Whenever people smoke in the queuelines, albeit smoking being restricted to the back of the mountain in the park (Liseberg, Sweden). Screaming isn't very prominent here, thankfully, except on Atmosfear.

    Lapbar or Over-the-shoulder-restraints?

Hello I treid with no success to find a thread where this sort of question was answered, so I hope it is okay to ask it. I've noticed that many coasters (apart from the schwarzkopf loopers) that features inversions are equipped with lap bars. Up until this realization I have had the impression...

Funny Things People Have Said At/About Theme Parks

I was on a 70 feet coaster, and at the top of the lifthill, one of the persons infront of me said ''Stop!! Stop!!'' and tried to grab onto the catwalk fence. She didn't reach it and when we went downhills she shouted ''Nyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!''.

Alton Towers/Ropers noise complaint rolls on

To be very honest, I found this truly ridiculous. As far as I am aware, Alton Towers has made a lot to reduce their noise and have been very attentive to what the locals have to say on the noise matter. It's honestly starting to seem like they are doing it for their own enjoyment. What a joke...
