Oakwood closes its doors, cites financial difficulties

Walygazette interviewed management of both Walygator parks and here is what came out:

- They confirmed the move of Speed No Limit to Walygator Sud-Ouest. They are "exploring" moving Megafobia to that park as well, but no current plan due to the technical challenge they say.

- Walygator Grand-Est will receive Treetops Rollercoaster, after some refurbishment, for the 2026 season. The Walynosaure (old Zamperla Telecombat) will go into storage pending a full rebuild and the coaster will go there.

While I'd much rather these rides stay in the UK, it's pretty exciting news for Walygator Sud-Ouest. Speaking to some family that live near there, it's always been a very popular park with the locals which has seen limited investment due to the lack of competition in the region.

If significant new hardware, even second hand, proves effective in attracting more non-locals, it could be the push Aspro needs to invest more regularly in the park and turn it into more of a destination.

That being said, I'd be (pleasantly) shocked if they actually move Megafobia down there.

At this point, they may as well get GCI or Gravity Group to clone the layout there as it'd be a lot of work to move Megafobia from Oakwood.

It isn't impossible but it's very challenging.

Speed the Ride will sport a fresh blue paint scheme when it arrives at Walygator Sud-Ouest later this year:

The park has also begun teasing the start of construction on their social media pages:

Still fuming over the miss-management of this park. But it is what it is.

Surprised nothing has been said about Drenched yet, that was taken down carefully and not just ripped down. So we might see that pop up somewhere in the future.

A recent fly-over:

Hydro and Bounce still on-site, Waterfall (one of the absolute best rides in the park) is being dismantled, Snake River Falls is getting loaded onto lorries. The crocodile coaster looks to be gone. Megafobia, Bobsleigh and the Sky coaster all appear to be untouched so far.

Is that snake river falls being carefully loaded onto a truck in that video?
