Project Name: Tide

Description:
Portharxis is the brand new centerpeice land in this newly opened theme park. Themed around a fantasy port town with a massive rollercoaster twisting throughout. Aeris is the star attraction, an Intamin Mega-lite coaster that twists and turns, barely missing rocks, trees, waterfalls and buildings to produce an adrenaline pumping ride! The ride sets sail after giving guests the opportunity to explore a full sized Airship!

Along with this, the area offers 'The Navigator' attraction, a sensory experience through time and space that will leave you wondering whats up and whats down. The area is also host to the park entrance, the Cheeky Monkey Pub, the Port trading superstore and at the 'Grand Hall', customer services.

Portharxis is just the first of many exciting lands at the park, located next to the 'Wild Canyon' and the 'Enchanted Forest' area of the park. It is also used as a backdrop for the parks star evening show, which takes place on the Argocean lake.

Story:
Welcome to a world quite unlike our own. A world full of wonder and adventure just waiting for you to go and discover. Airships and submarines replace cars and planes in a place that magic is not a myth, but an everyday occurrence. All this powered by the discovery of the legendary ether, Aeris. A 'fifth element', higher than earth, wind, water and fire, Aeris can be harnessed for all sorts of unbelievable experiences. We invite you down to the Sky-port to experience a brand new mecha-vehicle that utilises the power in an all new, insane kind of way!

Ride Stats:
Height - 120 feet
Speed - 86kph
Length - 2582 feet

Due to both Coastersims, and now NLDC disapearing off the face of the earth I have decided to create a development topic, and archive for my previously released work.

I'll start with Trance. This was the first coaster I made proper 3Ds in, that wasn't just a couple of simple rocks etc.

# TRANCE #

Trance111.jpg

Ride Stats:
Height -145 feet
Speed - 60 mph
Length - 3233 feet
Inversions: 5 1/2
- Camelback Roll
- Vertical Loop
- Immelman Loop
- Twisting Dive Loop
- Overbanked turn (1/2)
- Corkscrew
G Forces:
- Max: 5.3G's
- Min: -1.0G's
Cost - $14,000,000

Description:
TRANCE has been designed to be B&M's Comeback. They've stepped away from their modern, forceless coasters to produce an intence ride experience. Trance takes riders through 5 1/2 inversions, 8 Near Misses, 4 Extreme helixes, 1 1/2 tunnels, and over many rock and water features.

This coaster was inspired by the coasters Talon and Callisto, both being awsome rides. The coaster passes E-stop tests and tunnel testing, with the exception of the lift hill, which has added supports to create a more realistic looking lift hill, and also at one point two tunnels slightly collide, this shouldnt be a problem though as they are on the same block segment so please do not mark down for these =)

Story:
Well, this coaster doesnt really have much of a story, its themed around music and the way it can affect people in great ways. Yeah i know.. cheesy =P

Special Thanks To:
C&R - advice and general moaning
Tia - object creator and all textures used from it.

TRANCE DOWNLOAD

Please note: This coaster was made in 2005, much before the 1.6 update so the cartextures no longer work, and the trains are slightly longer, so please keep that in mind. I don't think it affects the ride too badly but yeah.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next up is Breathe. This was supposed to be a 'Bigger Brother' to Trance, continuing the more Amusement Parkesk Theming, with architecture inspired by Sidneys Opera House.

# BREATHE #

BreathePreview1.jpg

Description:
A coaster inspired by Katun, Breathe takes riders down one of the steepest drops on an inverted coaster, through four tunnels and trenches, over and under rocks and pathways at over 70 mph.

The coaster has been completely hand made, it passes E-stop tests and tunnel testing, with the exception of the lift hill, which has added supports to create more realistic looking lift hill and brake runs.

Story:
After the parks success with trance, the CEO returned to B&M with a preposition to build another coaster for the sister park. This time they wanted to build big and extreme. After months of work, Breathe was born.

Ride Stats:
Height -195 feet
Speed - 71 mph
Length - 3861 feet
Inversions: 5
- Vertical Loop (140ft)
- Camelback Roll (124ft)
- Immelman Loop (117ft)
- Vertical Loop (74ft)
- Corkscrew

Next up shall be Atlas. My most famous/highly rated coaster, this was the first ride I stepped away from 'Amusement Park' Theming, to more Theme Park theming. Looking back at it, this ride has plenty of flaws in terms of utilizing the theming in the best possible way for the ride, but I had no true concept of it then.

# ATLAS #

Altas.jpg

Project Name: Nemo

Description:
Welcome To Atlantis! Altas is the brand new ride to be the centrepiece of the parks brand new Atlantis Themed Area, which is also home to Icarus, a 215ft high drop tower. Atlas lauches you to speeds of 66mph, through three inversions, four tunnels, over a waterfall and raging river, and to a final jaunt through a Grand Temple.

The coaster has been completely hand made, No tool work at all. All of the 3d scenery was created using the Object Creator. Because of the lauch it doesnt really pass e-stop tests, as accelerator coasters havent been sorted on No Limits yet. The track pretty much passes the tunnel test except for a few exceptions in the station/launch area. Please dont mark down for these =)

Story:
Prepare to take on Atlas, King of Atlantis as you escape his wrath in an attempt to escape the doomed city.

Ride Stats:
Height -140 feet
Speed - 66 mph
Length - 3277 feet
Inversions: 3
- Inclined Faking Dive Loop (140ft)
- Rolling Corkscrew (100ft)
- Overbanked Turn (81ft)
- Twisted Barrel Roll (75ft)
- Overbanked Turn (42ft)

G Force: 5.3G's

Cost - $20,000,000

Next up is Corsair - Legend of Darkchest, an over the top piratical romp. This is probably my least favourite of the rides due to its huge size and poor use of textures. That said though, ALOT of man hours went into creating this thing, and even if some parts didn't turn out as good as was initially planned, there is alot in this ride to go and find if, like me, you like zooming around in fly view exploring.

# Corsair - The Legend of DarkChest #

CorsairPic.jpg

Project Name: Dark Chest

Story:
"Yarr-harr me hearties! Come sit wi' old and let me tell ye the tale of Dark Chest! Many years ago there was a legendary pirate who went by the name o' Capt'n Henry Morgan. He was a man so evil, it is said that the seas itself put a curse onto him and his legendary booty! He hid it away into the depths of the earth, and cursed the very caves hidden away beneath this humble port town of Black Cove.

Many strong sailors have gone in search of the priceless artefacts consumed within Morgans treasure, venturing into the depths of the Cursed Caves, and the few that ever did return.. left their sanities in the wretched caves.

Now.. I hear ye be wantin' to go adventuring to find this treasure eh? The legend goes that only those who have a true pirate heart beatin' inside them will e'er be able te' find the treasure.. so you have to ask yerself.. are ye a landlubber? Or dare ye enter the caves to be a real Corsair?!"

Description:
Corsair is a new generation Speed Coaster Manufactured by B&M for CrazyCoastersCorps most famous park. Welcome the first Mini-Speed coaster. But do not be put off by the name. Corsair's twisted layout will leave you completely disoriented. With a unique Sidewind 270 degree twisting drop, airtime, speed and so many close encounters that you'll be wondering how you still have all your sea legs still attached, this coaster is not for the fainthearted.

Set around an artificial Cove in CCCorps main park, which is also home to such famous coasters as Atlas and Breathe, Corsair weaves in and out of the ground at breathtaking speeds, including the rides two centrepieces, the largest manmade cave in the world, and a massive 20m high working volcano. The coaster speeds past waterfalls, Galleons, buildings, shipwrecks, lava, caves and bridges.. giving plenty to see for all!

The coaster utilises a double station, the first designed by swiss firm B&M, to quickly and effectively run 4 trains without stall to increase guest throughput and decrease waiting times.

Theming of the area has been designed to be completely immersive, taking guests from their current lives back to the days of pirates, with many details placed all over for the nosey guest to explore, a large store full of piratical goods a restaurant, and a muffin shop (just because muffin shops make the world a happier place). The new pirate area also incorporates the parks newly revamped and renamed Shoot-the-Chute ride, now known as Mutiny. Feel free to explore all areas of the park, as months was spent on all the little details for you all to enjoy =)

Once again, my coaster is completely hand made, without the help of any tools at all (not even the new NL1.6 Smoother). It may not be the smoothest of all coasters out there, and alot of people may comment that I should have used AHG, but i refuse, so there is little point in writing that in any review. All the scenery was made by myself using Tia's Object Creator, with some textures used from the program, and others made by myself.

The track passes both E-Stop and Tunnel tests (when using previous NL steel tunnels) to a main degree, except in places in which are logical (such as lift, station ect). Please do not mark down for these slight exceptions =)

Ride Stats:
Height -185 ft
1st Drop - 146 ft
Speed - 64 mph
Length - 4224 feet

G Force: 5.3G's

Cost - $27,500,000

Thanks to:
Tia - Object Creator and all textures used from it
Ed - All the ideas you've put into the ride, testing it + putting up with my general moanings. =)
Richard - For being there when a fellow part time pirate needed, for making awsome trailors + ditto to the above. =)

5th up is Xibalba (Shee-bal-ba). The trackwork for this coaster was always its biggest flaw, it was my first real experimentation with AHG. Some facts and things are a bit muddled, but I did quite alot of research into the temples of the Americas to try and create an original, but also slightly realistic atmosphere.

# Xibalba #

Xibalbasign.jpg

Project Name: Mya

Story:
An excentric Invertor / explorer has invented a new type of hovering machine in which he plans to explore harsh terrains in. You are his test dumbies. Taking you on an expedition to Peru into the heart of a jungle ridden area filled with a number of ancient Mayan temples he planned to test the machine out exploring the regions temples in search of the great Cuzco's treasure, and also to find out more about the legendary 'Rapa' creatures.

Unfortunately, the maiden flight goes horrifically wrong when the train falls into a trap and gets blasted out of the large temple, while the explorers desperatly tried to control the machine as it raged through the jungle narrowly missing rocks, columns and tunnels.

Finally managing to regain the machine, the explorers find themselves in the forbidden Rapa's temple, which was cursed by the legendary creatures themselves. Feeling the uneasy feeling of being watched, the vehicle and explorers foolishly advanced further into the temple, causing the curse to instigate apon its victims, hurtling the train forwards at breakneck speeds!

Welcome to Xibalba. You are about to become the twelve explorers on that original terrifying trip.

Description:
Xibalba is the main attraction in the parks hugely immersive new Mayan themed area 'ElDorado Ruins'. The second Tera coaster in the world, Xibalba features a 95 degree past vertical drop, along with a massive LIM launch, a number of inversions, extreme ejector airtime, and close calls with trees, caves, temples and the monorail.

The new area is home to the new 'El Dorado' Restaurant and a number of huge temples and jungle foliage. Great views of the area can be seen from the parks monorail, which passes through the new ride.

The coaster has partically been constructed by hand, and partially by AHG. All supports hand made along with all of the 3d scenery, which was created using the Object Creator. The track pretty much passes the tunnel test, using the old style steel tunnels, except for a few exceptions in areas in the station etc. Please dont mark down for these =)

Ride Stats:
Height -110 feet
Speed - 66 mph
Length - 4093 feet
Inversions: 2
- Inline Twist
- Immelman (110ft)
- 4 Overbanked turns
- 3 Ejector Airtime hills

Xenon: Reconfigured is actually the 3rd time around of making the one coaster. Originally I had this idea about creating a horror ride, based partly on Half Life, which would use small dark corridors, and sounds coming out the walls in the internal queueline to create a terrifying atmosphere.

# Project Xenon: Reconfigured #

480-36422-lg.jpg

Story:
Deep in the old Darkwater quarry a secret government facility was build to test out a strain of the Xenon element at a high radiation intensity. The experiments were gruelling and most morally wrong to the test subjects, who were all convicts taken from death row and military prison camps discreetly. The base was highly classified.

Earlier this morning, a number of emergency transmissions were recieved before abruptly stopping, and radio silence from the base since. A contaminant is feared, all staff pressumed dead.

You have been selected from a highly specialised group of recon soldiers to enter the base and find out what happened..

Description:
Welcome to Xenon: Reconfigured. One of my older, original tracks completely redone to its original concept - A ride in which the actuall queueline is part of the experience.

Featuring an emersive queueline to completely set the mood, with flickering lights, sounds taking the brave rider through a number of scenes, including destroyed laboratories, staff changing areas and even through a bloody bathroom scene.

You then are taken to the actual ride itself, an intense experience to rival famous rides such as Black Mamba and Nemesis, the ride flows around the terrain of the old quarry and features many close calls with walls, waterfalls, machinery and the ride itself, while staying almost completely hidden under tree height, this small rollercoaster packs a punch.

Ride Stats:
Height -120 feet
Speed - 53 mph
Length - 2563 feet
Inversions: 4
- Immelman
- Zero-G Roll
- Loop
- Corkscrew
Other Features:
-Overbanked hill
-Airtime Hill
-Prelift section
-3 Helixs
-Massive inside section of the ride

G Force: 5.3G's

Cost - $26,000,000

YAAAYY

You're clearly got one of the best back catalogs of rides ever. They may not've been the smoothest of rides, but in all honesty, did it ever really matter, the layouts are fantastic regardless of the theme. But with the theming, it all adds up to the greatest NoLimits experience you can get. So much care, and attention to detail. billion/10..for every ride =). fellow pirate.

*three cheers for Andre*

You need to get your head down though, rides don't make themselves!

^ Haha I know, I know. I'm just trying to make Project Tide as perfect as possible, which has meant alot of remodeling and redesigning of sections. Its taking time, but hopefully it'll show when I eventually finish it.

Amazing!

Inverts were the best, especially Xenon, if there is a new ride on the way, I'm looking forward to that!

IMO, Trance was one of the best inverts I personally have ridden. It was awesomely smooth, and, besides the loop, the shapping was pretty much perfect :)

Blaze

That looks excelent, but I'd prefer another B&M, you seem best at building them, I know I mentioned the Inverts, but Corsair has really grown on me since and now it's my favourite of your rides.

Anyway I will reserve judgement because I know whatever you make will be amazing anyway.

^ No, the track download. When I click the link to, say, Corsair, it comes up with "file unknown" and redirects me to a search for the correct program to open it. So how would I open it or which program do I need?
