Man, what's with a the coaster accidents recently? Every week another cable snaps or train derails it seems like.

Oh good. Another accident.

Hopefully we'll get them all out of the way this month, then the rest of the year will be relatively accident free.

ANOTHER cable breaking?! How long are theme parks going to keep their routine inspections like this? At this rate, there's going to be more roller coaster related injuries/deaths than ATV related injuries/accidents. How long before theme parks all over get sued out of business?!

Yes, because "Trippus - God of accidents" wants to nip off on holiday in August, so he's getting his desk cleared so he doesn't have a backlog in September :roll: :p

Each year a park's insurance company will visit to assess the public liability insurance cover. They will look at operations and maintenance routines. They may also cover training.

The insurance company will send in experts within these fields, and they will determine the quality of the park, and if they are "insurable", and to what cost depending on a risk assessment.

Then, if somebody is injured in an accident, the insurance company will pay out. The park just pays its premiums.

I think if there's clear neglect on the part of the park maintenance, then possibly it will come out of the park budget, but it would have to be proven to be serious neglect.

Accidents happen. Insurance is there to cover it. Parks will only go out of business if insurance premiums become too high ;)

:p I was kinda referring to your accident statistincs that you worked out the other day. We're due, what, 12 major accidents in a year on average? So if we have more than our one this month, some sort of statistical law would suggest that we're likely to have a month or two without any.

The people that got hurt were not on the ride or the station, they were people walking by that got hit by bits that flew off. Everyone on the ride was ok.
