Wild Mouse (Blackpool)

I dont think I have ever been as scared riding a coaster on my own as this one. Ive been on it plenty of times, but never alone. Last time I went to PB I gave it ago on my bean. What an exhilarating experience, the drop literally throw you out of your seat and you think you going to smack your head off parts of the ride, how the hell have they managed to keep this classic open with all the health and safety laws?

Didn't you just make a topic attacking the place? Yet now you're talking about how they have a world-class coaster and have managed to maintain it extremely well? :?

I was not saying everything about the park was bad, just a few things that ruin the experience, and plus I live hear so I have a right to be critical about the subject

*fixed

Couldn't agree more, which is why this is #5 in my Top Ten. I love every drop and turn and ride the coaster saying to myself: "Here comes the drop", "and another turn", "and another drop", "and another turn" in anticipation of each thrill to come. There's really no other coaster like it and I hope it keeps running for decades to come.

For anyone not familiar with it:

Amen. It's in my top 5, too.

It's just so FUN. (And giggle-inducing.)

Just because you live in Blackpool doesn't mean you have any more right than anyone else to be critical about the park. If anything Pleasure Beach makes Blackpool seem a lot better than what it really is. :|

Certainly the best mouse I've ridden so far and also the best coaster in park. I just love all the headchoppers and all the sounds that can be heard when the coaster is dealing with turns and drops. Love it!

I visited alton and Blackpool for the first time this weekend, and my expectations for the Wild Mouse were high. That's probably the reason I was dissapointed, the ride hurts a little and isn't extremely out of control or dangerous IMO. It still is a nice coaster, but IMO very overrated. Loved the Grand National and the park in general <3.

Nah, it doesn't really do anything for me either. I can understand why people like it, I can, but nah - leaves me a bit hurt and a bit disappointed. I don't know if that's because I've been riding it for so long, or just because that kind of thing does nothing for me? The drops are bloody good though, but the turns are crap. 100% best "Wild Mouse" ever though :)

I think it's great, but I can only do it once in a visit. The fun is outweighed by the feeling this is the one ride where you really could go flying at any moment.

So, you're saying that Wild Mouse is overrated and Grand National is great. Oh, well... I'm disappointed in you...

I guess everyone has a differint taste for roller coasters, something wrong with that? In Belgium you rarely hear someone speak about GN, while everyone seem to love the wild mouse.

^ Yeah, probably there is a reason behind that, right? I agree that everybody has a right of his own opinion and please don't take this as an 'attack' on your opinion, but I can't really see what is there to like about Grand National. The thing was absolutely horrible when I rode it and did it best to adjust some spines in my back...

When the Nash is running well, it's in my top ten wooden coasters easily (one ride I would put in my to give every coaster experiences). When it's running badly though, I'd happily burn it down personally. Maybe even lower rates on those runs as I do Baco.

Compared to the mediocre mouse in those contexts..?

What I don't understand about Nash is that you can get a great ride and then a mediocre (at best) re-ride a few minutes later on the same track and the same train. At least that doesn't happen on the Wild Mouse. I've had re-rides that were as good as the previous ride regardless of which car I rode in.

Yeah, that's why the Nash had been rapidly heading south on my lists for years.
