What are the numbered disks in Thorpe Park queue lines for?

In the queue lines for Stealth, Inferno and Colossus are multiple silver metal disks with a letter and number code. They are on the fence posts throughout the queue line, each one is different.

Furie reckons they're special vantage points where you can view the Princess Diana memorial now it's been closed off for the Loggers Leap "refurb".

All theories welcome seeing as nobody at the park we've asked knows.
