Walygator 2014: new Air Race ride

peep

CF Legend
The park is starting to advertise a new ride for the 2014 season. It's probably just a flat ride but it's fantastic they're doing well enough since re-opening to afford a new attraction. It actually sounds like the colourful re-brand has worked wonders and visitor numbers have been high. I'm very intrigued by what they could be getting.

Re: Walygator 2014: new ride

"Will you be at the top?"

Have they got a drop tower already?

Re: Walygator 2014: new ride

^Yes, they have a space ship themed drop tower. They would be better off just getting they're other rides running rather than adding another. The ghost train/haunted house, topple tower and three other rides were all down when I was there this summer.

Re: Walygator 2014: new ride

Topple Tower's getting spited end of this year anyway...

Their choice, can't do anything but wish them success in turning it around from the dump it seemed to be...

Re: Walygator 2014: new ride

More info has been found in an online article:

The park resumed in April by three local investors takes a good summer record. With 350 000 visitors from June to August, Walygator is close to its target at the end of the season to 380 000 entries. In 2014, the park will continue to invest with a new unique attraction in Europe, open to children 10 years and promised an acceleration close to 4G. It will be built at the foot of the Dark Tower early November to open in June in the "world of the future." The park is also considering shows completely renewed and full theming the boat ride on the center lake. "There will be 6 universe, the dominant color should be blue to make it consistent with the world of the Caribbean, a new themed area created next year," concludes Frederique Drouin.

Colour me intrigued. Those guest figures don't sound very high (especially for a park of this size) but it's good to know they are on the way up.

They're getting a Zamperla Air Race if anyone cares...

Glad they're getting an air race, great rides. However slightly disappointed as they were advertising a unique ride.

I don't remember a small boat ride, good to see their new mascots being incorporated into the park more.

Sorry about the double post but for those interested the park has announced that they will not be re-opening their topple tower this year. The park are either planning to sell the ride or just plainly bin it as it's caused nothing but hassle for the park.

It's such a shame that another Topple Tower bites the dust. They really are one of the best family thrill ride in the world. To bad about their price and reliability.

On the other hand, Air Race's are totally awesome!

A new map has been unveiled showing off all their shiny new things for this year. They must be investing a decent amount because they have a new show, new thrill ride (the air race) and something else new (silver express) within a newly themed Space area plus a re-themed boat ride. Oh and a baby parc (maybe a soft play area?).

So the new air race turned up early and is going to open earlier than planned!

The park opens next week, rumours are that it'll open late April/early May.

Instead of creating a new topic I thought I'd post here some more good news for the park....

The park managed to make a profit this year! With just under half a million visitors with the main chunk of guests going in September and October they've managed to start to turn the park around. This is the first time the park has made a profit in 15 years.

They are now looking at adding a new attraction for the 2015 season.

I'm staggered they've done that. The park was dead when in went in August on a Saturday. But well done to them.
