I think we have a thread out there somewhere, if so please add this to the discussion, or leave it as the first unofficial concrete evidence at the return of Kong?

ORLANDO --
The chatter-meter is active this week after Universal Parks & Resorts filed construction plans for Islands of Adventure. So does this mean that a ride or mega-attraction is on the way?
First, here's the deal. If a theme park wants to build an attraction, structure - anything, really - it needs to file plans with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). There's no way around it. They become public records, which is good news for us nosy media (and probably not the best for the ever-so-secretive creative minds at Universal).
The project is called "Project 340." The SFWMD received the application (140320-17) March 20. It's undergoing "initial review" with a deadline of April 19, 2014.
The construction area is 4.15 acres.
According to the blueprints and maps, "Project 340" is sandwiched between Jurassic Park River Adventure and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. So if you're driving on Hollywood Way and approaching Turkey Lake Rd., it's located to the north, directly behind the thick trees and fences.
"Project 340" is a boring chunk of land (right now, at least). If you look closely at the Google Earth images above, it's a behind-the-scenes service/storage area. There's a lot of dirt and random props and equipment.
We've reached out to Universal's public relations team for comment regarding these public records. So far, they've remained tight-lipped.
Theme park insider and gossip websites are confident that a King Kong attraction is coming, so it'll be interesting to hear from Universal about what we could look forward to after Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley opens this summer.
