Who doesn't love a good theme park mug. They provide the perfect combination of warm beverage and warm memories of park visits <3

But which are your favorites and how do you rank them?

Here is my Top 5 Mug creds:

1. Vampire (Chessington World of Adventures)

I love the way the handle looks like a bat wing. I love the purple and black colours, and that the print on the other side looks all spooky and cute.

2. Baby 13 Mug (right one in picture)

This one may be smaller than Mummy 13 mug; but this works to its advantage in the morning, when I down my tea in 3 big gulps before dashing out to work. It's a pretty simple design but I won this in a GF faffle, so it has happy memories attached :)

3. Parc Asterix

Not the most imaginative of mugs, but a solid all-rounder. Nice colour, nice design, great theme park.

4. Mummy 13 mug

That trademark Merlin Thickness really is evident in this mug. It'll keep tea warm for up to an hour! I like the vine detail woven around the handle.

5. Thorpe Park Skyline circa 2006

10858551_10152954712315081_6948167817403213425_n.jpg

A historical relic! This mug has the skyline of the park printed at the bottom, in the bygone days before Saw, The Swarm and err..Storm Surge changed it's landscape for..the foreseeable future.

Honourable mention to my least fave mug cred:

Saw - The Mug

Bought the mug cos I love the ride. But I hate the mug. Quite the predicament!

I hate how they tried to make the handle look like a beyond vertical drop. It doesn't resemble one at all, and just makes the mug hard to hold in one hand whilst typing on Coasterforce with the other. They clearly didn't think this one through!

It doesn't really have anything that alludes to the coaster pictured on the mug, so it looks as though it could just be a mug for the film. That annoys me.

Reflecting on this top 5 and my top 10 coasters, I've realized that Merlin make better mugs of coasters than coasters.

What are your best and worst theme park mugs?

Hahaha fab topic <3

I only own two park mugs, I'm such a mug. And one of them is dull.

I use this one all the time, tea, coffee, cup a soup, hot chocolate, you name it, it has the Shambhala cred...apart from bovril actually.

Less impressive...it's Megafobia. The inside is all cracked from hot water...if mugs are supposed to withstand somethings it's hot liquid one would have thought? Crap mug for a crap cred!

^ I like the Shambhala one, except for the track being Vekoma track not beautiful B+M. Why do parks do this?! You'd think, what with the internet and all, it would be easy to find an image of the actual product you are merchandising.

I really regret not buying this at WDW last year and I can't find it for sale on the internet either :/

Walt-Disney-World-Theme-Park-Storybook-Mickey-Mouse-Large-Ceramic-Mug-NEW-1.jpg

It has loads of characters on it as well as the EPCOT ball, castle, tree of life, HS hat, monorail, it's fab and I want it <3

I've only ever bought one, and I sadly can't take a picture of it as I left it back at my parents house. It's from Dollywood, and is basically just a normal mug in terms of size, shape, and material.

However, I bought it because it has a photo of Dolly on it, right under my name and with "I will always love you" written around it. It's fab.

Gavin that is ridiculous and I love it. Sad that we don't have a picture of its fabness

Merlin mugs are always better, just crazy sizes and they have really nice designs. I don't drink tea or coffee though and using mugs for cold drinks is wrong so although I have a few park mugs I don't really use them. Maybe if I find time I'll take photos of what I do have.

I only have goon mugs. I'll take a photo when I wash up later on this evening. It's great when I have a bunch of goons come round because I carefully select the most appropriate mug for them. Yes, I'm sad.

I don't like mugs that are too large, too small or have an awkward shape or handle. NHS Jordan, I too have the 'fobia mug and mine is still in good condition. Ner-ner-ner-ner-ner.

As promised, here are all of my goon mugs.

Here are my favourite mugs. Good size, great thickness of the china, sturdy handle and good design. I like the Goliath one the best because I can see the milk mix with the tea/coffee when I pour it in. It excites me every time!

And I don't like these mugs based on the artwork and cheap feel to them. The Rainbow Magicland one is vile.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Serena for giving me a good reason to wipe out my mug cupboard.

I too am a fan of the goon mug;

I favour the "high capacity", "solid construction" style of goon mug, such as;
16250635870_fcc20b769c_o.jpg

and the similar size, feel;
16250383988_b02b9bfdbd_o.jpg

My highest capacity one is this one, but the construction is a bit dubious on the handle, I don't expect it to last well;

Unlike this, which has well over 10 years of solid goonuse;

I found some very solid constructed ones at some Six Flags parks, unfortunately their decoration was a bit rubbish and the patterns all wore off rather quickly - anyone know what these are/were commemorating;

16252137737_61dd847ca9_o.jpg

(mugs are still solid though, so still in good use)

My latest purchased goon mug is this one though - and I have a goon-mug related question for the assorted Disney-goons;

I can tell this this side of the mug is a Mickey-hand;
16436278741_76658988ed_o.jpg

but what is this meant to be...?
16412067186_71545ea472_o.jpg

16250382758_9bbef8f6d9_o.jpg

(goon mug collection opportunities in Japan were rather poor, that was the only solid,large one I found)

Re: Disney mug question.

Mickey's shoe. For some reason Disney merchandise design teams think different bits of the fab 5's clothing (goon term for the main characters, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto) makes for good merch but you end up with bits like that which just looks awful and also very questionable.

The Lightwater Valley one with the lines they forgot to edit out <3 I mean what the ****? Someone actually had the conversation with someone 'we'll sell them anyway'. It's hilarious.

I really like the look of The Swarm one. It looks plastic though?
It's china, me ol' china. It's grotesquely large - it holds just shy of a pint.

So some of my favourite looking mugs...

^hahaha that last mug <3

I'm so annoyed I wasn't part of CF when all this merchandise was a thing, I have nothing specifically CF related. Nothing. This makes me sad :(
