Who doesn't love a good theme park mug. They provide the perfect combination of warm beverage and warm memories of park visits <3
But which are your favorites and how do you rank them?
Here is my Top 5 Mug creds:
1. Vampire (Chessington World of Adventures)
I love the way the handle looks like a bat wing. I love the purple and black colours, and that the print on the other side looks all spooky and cute.
2. Baby 13 Mug (right one in picture)
This one may be smaller than Mummy 13 mug; but this works to its advantage in the morning, when I down my tea in 3 big gulps before dashing out to work. It's a pretty simple design but I won this in a GF faffle, so it has happy memories attached
3. Parc Asterix
Not the most imaginative of mugs, but a solid all-rounder. Nice colour, nice design, great theme park.
4. Mummy 13 mug
That trademark Merlin Thickness really is evident in this mug. It'll keep tea warm for up to an hour! I like the vine detail woven around the handle.
5. Thorpe Park Skyline circa 2006
A historical relic! This mug has the skyline of the park printed at the bottom, in the bygone days before Saw, The Swarm and err..Storm Surge changed it's landscape for..the foreseeable future.
Honourable mention to my least fave mug cred:
Saw - The Mug
Bought the mug cos I love the ride. But I hate the mug. Quite the predicament!
I hate how they tried to make the handle look like a beyond vertical drop. It doesn't resemble one at all, and just makes the mug hard to hold in one hand whilst typing on Coasterforce with the other. They clearly didn't think this one through!
It doesn't really have anything that alludes to the coaster pictured on the mug, so it looks as though it could just be a mug for the film. That annoys me.
Reflecting on this top 5 and my top 10 coasters, I've realized that Merlin make better mugs of coasters than coasters.
What are your best and worst theme park mugs?
