Thorpe Park voted a top place for romance!

ATTACKHAMMER

Strata Poster
Dating experts have branded Thorpe Park as one of the UK’s top locations for romance.

Described as ‘the perfect place to put your first date nerves into perspective’, relationship website eHarmony has put the theme park into the Great Date Guide, a collection of top dating locations and activities across the country.

The park, romantically set off junction 11 of the M25, was opened in 1979 by Lord Louis Mountbatten and currently costs on average £49.98 for two adults visiting on a Saturday and booking online.

For those who enjoy an adrenaline-filled dating scene, with heightened chances of nausea, the park is the home of the world’s first winged roller-coaster, The Swarm, with selected seats facing backwards which spin 180 degrees towards the wing of a ‘genuine plane wreck’.

Those who prefer things less heated can get drenched on Tidal Wave, a 85ft drop into a wave of water – or else take the traditional approach of a chat and an ice cream on the carousel.

Thorpe Park’s success is acclaimed by thousands of eHarmony couples who recommended the location.

Spokeswoman Zoe Cartell said: “Every day you walk around Thorpe Park you see couples hand in hand.

“We’ve even had marriage proposals. It’s great to see us placed so highly in this survey.”

Erm... Yeah. Just a random article. "Romantically set off junction 11 of the M25" is my favourite bit!
Anyone think Thorpe is romantic?

I doubt that 'I'll have sex with him because he took me to Thorpe Park' went through her mind ;)

It might be a decent place to take 'a date' I suppose, you can look all manly going on the 'big' rides, but I'm sorry, it's about as romantic as a **** coal mine. It's a great day out but it isn't romantic. ATTACKHAMMER has taken me dozens of times, we've never thrown caution to the wind and romanced.

That has nothing to do with any place :P

HAHA the best bit is they'd be closed! Imagine the disappointment.

Come to Thorpe Park on Valentines Day and look at a closed gate, enjoy the view of Stealth, Detonator and Swarm doing nothing, for an added bonus, rain is forecast so she'll get wet.

There aren't any public places in the UK where I've ever seen as many used condoms as the queue lines at Thorpe - so I think maybe they're onto something...

It may be the most romantic place in the UK, but ITS NOT THE MOST ROMANTIC PLACE IN THE WORLD! THAT TITLE BELONGS TO SIX FLAGS AMERICA. :P

The way some people talk about the place, you'd think it'd have the title because of all the divorce filings.

Posted while reading your mind.

Its psychologically proven that bringing a date to a theme park is a win, as the mind associates the positive adrenaline from the thrill ride with the person they are with.

I don't class a chav being finger banged next to Nemesis Inferno as 'romantic', but call me a cynic.
