Thorpe Fright nights 2012

Hey peeps.

Just spotted this on another website (so not too sure if its a april fools or not but interesting none the less)

Yesterday, details for a new maze at Thorpe Park which were due to be announced next week were leaked and emailed to us by one of our readers!

The text below states that the scare zone will be located on The Swarm’s island and will be themed round the new rollercoaster.

This Fright Nights, we take fright to the next level as The Swarm, our terrifying new ride…goes live! Located on The Swarm’s island, ‘The Swarm LIVE’ will take scares to the next level as our bravest thrill seekers face apocalyptic scenes, live actors and the alien swarm up close!

The Swarm LIVE adds to our extreme line-up of terrifying Fright Nights attractions which include The Asylum, Experiment 10, SE7EN and The Curse.

Despite being an April Fools prank it actually sounds like it could be a good idea though... All the half dead 'survivors from The Swarm attack chasing you down etc...

If you bothered to read, you'd realise it's not a "maze", it was a Scarezone, completely different, plus, I know it was an April Fools, but, it would work, quite easily to be honest.

^ Well I don't think it would. And that shouldn't bother you.

Horror mazes aren't even mazes, they are corridors and rooms, with the odd dead end or two. If that 'Dead End' scare zone is anything to go by, this would be crap.

Um, I know what a "Horror Maze" is, well, in fact, that's just a made up term, the actual Definition is "Haunted/Scare Attraction". I know a bit more than most about the Scare Entertainment Industry!

Trust me, it WOULD work, easily to be honest. Plus, Dead End Scare Zone was a tester for them, they didn't do it very well, look at HHN and HoS, well any of the USA Haunt Events that happen, they're actually fantastic, if the effort is put in, they can be extremely atmospheric and you don't need to **** yourself over throughput or queueing.

If you, and anyone else thinks it would work, then fine. But I don't think it would, it wouldn't scare me in the way things like The Asylum does. So stop questioning my opinion.

I have to admit even though this was an April Fools joke by Rolllercoaster Extreme, I do think Thorpe will create something new for The Swarm for Fright Night. A live addition would probabley easier for them as they sort of piloted a siimilar thing for Saw The Ride in it's first Fright Night back in 2009 as "Saw The Ride Live" - The Live feature only came into affect at 4:00 clock when the mazes opened.
