Ollie
CF Legend
I know this is going to sound soppy and rubbish but I want to make my 10,000th post worthwhile.
I've been on CoasterForce for almost 4 years now and I've not regretted a single moment of it. Who knew that pressing 'submit' when creating an account on a forum can change your life so much.
Even though I was active on the forums it wasn't until February 2008 when I met up with my fellow CF'ers. I remember being really nervous
even though it was just a small meet at Chessington with a few other members. I remember seeing Erol as he was first at the meeting point and almost walking away from being nervous but plucked up the courage to walk over and say hi as a couple of other members turned up. As soon as I'd introduced myself and started talking I felt like I fitted in straight away. We all shared an enthusiasm of coasters which meant we already had something in common with each other, but that day was full of laughs. Who can forget ending the day with several laps on Vampire in the snow without getting off.
Since then I've grown more confident and found out more about myself as well. I started being able to put faces to names on the forums and could actually talk about things that had happened on trips without feeling left out and watching everyone else have all the fun It was then I decided to take a massive step and go to my first CoasterForce Live. I just jumped straight in at the deep end and packed my bags to go on CFs first ever EuroLive. I wasn't worried at all at the idea of going abroad for five days with complete strangers that I had never met before, as I had been talking to people on and off the forums and felt I could trust them and get along with them.
The 2008 Euro-Live was one of the best trips of my life. Not only did I get the opportunity to travel Germany and go on some amazing rides, I also made some more good friends and spending those days together meant we got to see the true person in and outside of a theme park environment.
Who knew then that that tripped would be completely topped the following year by the 2009 EuroLive which was too amazing to describe. Never laughed so much before in my life and it was also great to meet some new members such as Jerry.
Since then I've been going to more lives and meets, making more friends and having lots of fun. Some of my best friends at the moment are people I've met through this site and I don't know what my life would be like if I hadn't of met them.
Even though I'm not as enthusiastic about coasters as I used to be it's the people that keep me here and coming back time and time again.
Although sometimes I'm the butt end of some peoples jokes and sarcastic comments I feel like I'm part of the community.
10,000 posts is alot, and it shows I need to get out more. I know post counts don't matter but I wanted to dedicate this post to everyone.
Without you I have no idea where my life would be now. Thank you all for being so wonderful and making me feel a part of this large family.
Here's to many more wonderful years on CoasterForce.
