Re: The Wonderful World of Intamin

I have yet to be on a bad Intamin, and they all have the potential to be my favorite.
But my no 1 coaster is Piraten, so I say Megalite.

Re: The Wonderful World of Intamin

I loved the Mega Lite I did, but, it's not the best thing ever like people say.

I'd have to say the Megas are still probably the best, just for Goliath <3

Colossos is also great. Better than Toro.

Uh, I like the Accelerators. Ka and Storm Runner being my personal faves.

Also, Baco.

And the Impulses rock my World. Espeically the one at Marine World <3

But, Goliath is my favourite Intamin ride, so, I guess Megas! Although Superman:RoS and EGF were both over-rated and pretty crap.

Re: The Wonderful World of Intamin

#2: Toro (Prefab)
#3: Maverick (LSM)
#4: Bizarro (Mega)
#8: TTD (Accel)

There ya go. Honorable mention: Storm Runner, Volcano, and T Express (even though I haven't been).

Really well presented topic, you've put alot of effort into it so well done!

As for my Favourite Intamin, I actually have Shockwave at DMP higher in my list than any other Intamin so i have to say the Stand-up but rightly so that isn't included in the poll as im probably the only Member that shares that opinion.

For the poll i will go with the wingrider as Baco is bang on!

It's really between their LSM coasters and their megas for me. Both are incredibly well done for the most part. Bizzaro <3 I can't wait till I one day get to ride ispeed and goliath.

*Deliberates for a good 2 minutes before finally choosing............Megas.

Colossus <3<3<3

No, Piraten obviously. ;)

I love their new style mega wooden coasters for the ejector, but they have no soul which lets them down <///3

Stealth is my #1 coaster and Intamin launches are fab! Baco is great too, amazing launch but an unimaginative layout. With a better layout the wing walkers would be more interesting! I'm not especially fond of Intamin loopers, they don't feel at all as exciting as B&Ms.. Pre-fabs are great too, except for the rattling. Hmm.. I think I'll go for Megas in the end, but it's a tough decision!

I absolutely loved Green Lantern, I think if they were to make an even larger model of the Zacspin, it would blow everything else out of the water, but they haven't. I haven't got a chance to do most of them yet, but from what I have done, its accelerator without inversions. I'm sure the second I ride any other kind it will be blown out of the water, but for now, accelerator.

Well my favourite is California Screamin' so I guess that's closest to multi-inversion/looping coaster. Then for me it's the accelerator without inversions, as Accelerator and Stealth are next in my list for Intamin.

See I'm put off the accelerators I've been on due to the discomfort of the restraints. Lack-of-lapbar_RAGE

Accelerators <3 I loves me a good launch.

The spinner (the one at Bakken) is probably the most insane ride I've ever been on. It's actually hilarious how much it spins and how violently it takes the course. So much fun <3

I'm voting Mega, but I do think accelerators have the most potential in the future. I can just imagine a 100mph launch into a 300 ft top-hat with a layout like Intimidator 305. It's bound to happen...

^Not in the foreseeable future, though. A 100-meter ride will bring in guests no matter what its layout looks like. And even more than you want it to attract visitors, you don't want your new attraction to beat itself up, take up more space or cost more than necessary.

Though, an economic bubble at its peak can result in the most fantastically awkward projects you can imagine. So yeah, one day sooner or later somebody might build just that.

^But that argument deosn't really work since there's already a lot of ride's which are 300 ft and does have an extended layout (I305, Leviathan, MF, SD2K). It's just that they all utilize a lift hill rather than a launch to gain kinetic energy.

I think as of now the launch feature alone is enough to promote a coaster succefully. But in some time the launch hype will fade and parks will have to do more than just a launch and top hat to bring in the guests. The more efficient launch techonologies will also make it an economical justified alternative to use a launch rather than a lift hill. I can definitely see a launched hyper or giga in the forseeable future. But only time will tell!
