The Simpsons attractions coming to Disney parks?

A recent Walt Disney Co. survey sought to gauge consumer interest in themed lands and attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World based on The Simpsons. This development would include meet-and-greet characters in addition to rides and follows Disney's acquisition of the TV show franchise through its purchase of 21st Century Fox. Universal Studios holds the exclusive theme park rights to The Simpsons in the U.S. through 2028. Source
I enjoyed the Simpsons ride at USF and will miss it. I can't imagine what Disney will come up with, but I'm sure whatever it is will be just as good.

Thus the survey. We're talking about 2029 after all and there would have to be an overwhelmingly positive response to make the investment worthwhile.

It’s still one of the top programs on Disney+ due to all the legacy content drawing eyeballs moreso than the current run. Same reason why streamers pay hundreds of millions for the rights to shows like Seinfeld and The Office even though they ended decades ago.

I initially had the same thought, but it is still on (it's currently showing season 36!), and as @cookie said, it's still quite a big streaming hit due to the sheer amount and quality of legacy content.

I'm surprised that Disney are looking into it, though; The Simpsons never seemed like the type of franchise Disney would typically go for to add to one of its parks.

Sadly, I'm also guessing that this all but confirms the impending demise of the Universal rides and areas. The ride wasn't that great last time I did it in Orlando, but I'll be sad to lose the Springfield area. The wider area still seems quite new in my head (the ride was open before I visited Orlando, but the wider Springfield area wasn't there the first time I went to Orlando!), so the thought of losing it already feels odd!
