Snoopy's World: Photo Trip Report

Don't get too excited, it's not really a proper park, but I came across this "theme park" last weekend completely by accident. I was unsure whether to stick this in Life Outside to be honest, but there is a ride included, so **** it.

Someone I'm kind of seeing at the moment wanted to go to the 10,000 Buddhas Monastery, so, even though I've been before, I said I'd go with him. It doesn't take long to get to from my place, about half an hour or so, and is actually really nice. Anyway, the metro station that we needed to get there leads into a huge shopping mall, which we stopped in for lunch. There were signs around the mall for Snoopy's World, which I hadn't heard of, but obviously needed to check out in case of creds.

It's basically just a kids' play area, but it's decently themed:

Such a pair of lezzas:

The church was roped off because there was an actual, real-life wedding happening inside it. Clearly the Asian girl's idea becuase it's "cute". Idiots.

There is actually a small water ride, clearly for little kids. It's all free though, so I guess if you've been dragging your kids around a shopping centre all morning, it's a nice way to shut them up for a bit.

I clearly didn't ride it as I would've felt stupid. Plus there was a really long queue. Plus not a cred.

The 10,000 Buddhas Monastery is cool though. It's at the top of a pretty big hill with Buddha statues lining the whole path. Every one of them is different.

At the top is the main temple building, which houses thousands of small Buddha statues, again supposedly all different - I didn'y have time to check - plus the corpse of the guy who built it, which was dug up years after he died and shoved in a glass case. There's also a pagoda and a bunch of smaller buildings around the grounds, and some great views since it's pretty high up.

On the way back down we were set upon by a group of monkeys.

That's it. I told you it wasn't a proper park report.

The hedge saying SNOOPYS WORLD doesn't have an apostrophe. **** slackers. It's no wonder everybody is constantly dying on those knock off coasters :P

The Buddhas place looks amazing.

I used to do a little merchandise for Snoopy's World but have never seen it before. I thought it was bigger.
