Slowest Lift Hill In The World?

The Ultimate has a really slow lift hill. It's much quicker to walk up the lift hill read the paper and jump back on the train when it reaches the top.
Well it's not that slow but you get my point.

Yeah I forgot about the Ultimate. But why is the SLC running with such a slow lift hill? Even the prototypes have a much quicker setting?

Dragon Mountain @ Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

3'30" ride time, about 2 minutes of which is spent on the lift hill, no joke.

Magnum XL 200 had lift hill trouble over the last summer when a gear choked out. It closed down for a couple days and when they were testing, the lift was going 1/2 a mile an hour (according to the maintenence guys).

Took 45 minutes from the bottom to the top.

Many coasters have a 2-speed lift hill.

If a train hasn't cleared the following block, the PLC will drop the lift into low-speed to avoid a block violation or 'setup'.

Dueling Dragons also slowlifts intentionally to coordinate the timing of the trains.

I didn't think Dragon Mountain was *that* bad. YouTube videos (valuable source, obviously) seem to show it at about a minute. It just feels pointless cause you get to the top, and are still on ground level

That SLC was going through tests, the same test the Vampire went through every morning. It wouldn't go that slow during park operation.

^Exactly. The video says "Primeras pruebas" that translates into something like "First tests". So, the lift speed was so slow for testing purposes.

But, yes, most coasters tend to have a 2-speed lift to avoid trains getting stuck on top of the lift hill because the previous train hasn't cleared the following block.

I agree! That has to be the wierdest coaster I have ever been on. It was like the first RCT one I ever made ha!

I'm going for Goliath (SFMM) simply because when it gets near the top is slows down sooo much. I don't know if this is to build tension, but it just seems so utterly pointless.

Slowest lifts = anything by Meisho
Especially Jet coaster at Wonder Rakutenchi. Over half of the total ride time is spent on the lift hill, and that lift is pretty short :)

Schwarzkopf is notorious for slow lift hills.

Laser seemed to take forever getting to the top and Mind Bender felt almost as if it would roll back down the lift hill when seated in the back.

The slowest lift hill under normal operations is/was MaximunRPM at HRP. It's a prototype, of course, and the design of the lift 'wheel' requires it to take at least 6 minutes to reach the top.
The slowest non-prototype lift hill I've been on is Shockwave at Kings Dominion. It's slow because you will need the time to prepare for the pain that will be inflicted after you reach the top.

(I hate to say this...)
And the new winner is *drum roll*

Love this coaster, but the new trains have really made the lift hill the slowest of all time.
