Possibly jumping the gun a bit creating a thread for this, but...

There's a plot of land at Skyline Park that's been cleared, with track that looks suspiciously like Maurer Spike track on it. As I'm sure most-everyone knows, the park have a Spike coaster which has been plagued with problems, permanently closed at one point, and then reopened. And the park seem to have a certainly liking for Maurer.

So are we seeing a new model? A like-for-like replacement? Or are the park just getting another one for the fun of it?

If I'm interpreting that correctly, Maurer might have paid the park to build the coaster, and they still won't be opening it for guests. Of course there are nuances and other details, but taken a certain way, this has to be a new low.

Are you complaining about Vekoma not opening coasters on their testing ground to the public? This is basically the same. It's just unfortunate that it's located directly at a park and clearly visible to everyone. But this is still just a test installation. Of course Maurer paid for using this location and building the test track there. But it won't be tested by TÜV for opening or anything. You can't just open it to the public.

Nah, it was a little dig at the Spike model, which is a total piece of crap in every way. The ones that have been built have been fraught with issues, and the parks have barely managed to keep them open. Now this thing is at the point where it won't even pretend to be open, which is completely in line with the development of the ride type so far.

Yeah, I agree with that. It's crazy that they manage to sell these things to cruise ships whereas the parks don't even manage to keep them open in a normal situation. Maurer Rides has to have a really good sales department.

"Hey we know you sued us and your coaster from us doesn't work but can you do us a little favour and have another one of these for a bit that you can't open at all this time?"

Obviously it's a bit more complex than that but it seems like a really weird turn of events. Do Maurer not have their own testing site?

Skyline is really making coaster news waves at the moment, with this, the gerst and schwarzkopf removal!

Thought Bolt already got built, and is operating

The first Bolt coaster went on Carnival Mardi Gras.

The second Bolt coaster is going on Carnival Celebration in 2022.

The third Bolt coaster is going on Carnival Jubilee in 2023.

So there will be 3 of these coasters for now until Carnival Cruise Line order more ships.

Ah durrr! Was thinking that this was Space Cruiser.
