Bittersweet to see the Star Jet get torn down. Horrible cred, but a next-summer spite.

Glad to see they're building it on a more sturdy foundation and that they're slowly rebuilding.

There are a lot more credits than just the Star Jet that got lost, just pointing that out.

I'm good friends with Billy Majors, the guy who owns the often shunned Funtown Pier less than 1200 feet away, and he got a few rides bought back by their manufacturers. Other than that it doesn't look like the pier will be reconstructed in time for this season, and Majors is still debating the options he has for 2014.

So... you're saying its a horrible coaster but its spiting you by being removed? Did you ever even ride Star Jet? Until 06 when El Toro opened.... Star Jet was my #1 FAVORITE coaster in the state of New Jersey. (and I've been on about 50 or so NJ coasters..... soooooo)

Nitro? Hell Cat? Great White? Batman? Come on New Jersey isn't that bad of a state for coasters :<

Casino Pier released an update stating that Pirate's Hideaway will be standing on the pier during the entire reconstruction, and will open for the 2013 season.

This week we bring you our second ride announcement for the 2013 season - The Pirate's Hideaway, which is staying on the pier during construction. Stay tuned as we will be announcing more returning rides while we work to restore the Casino Pier Amusement Park.

The SkyScaper is also confirmed to be returning for the 2013 season.

EDIT: also posting to point out that Star Jet will be removed from the ocean, and should be beginning the process sometime this week. The reason why you don't see any roller coasters in the picture above is because that is Funtown Pier, not Casino Pier.
