Särkänniemi Scraps Jet Star - New Coaster?

Well that's at least 19 people who will be grumpy on the 5th August.

It's a shame this is being taken down - they were always fun little rides. But it can't have been cheap to maintain, they couldn't run it in any sort of moisture or damp because the cars struggled to stop in the brake zones, and even though that there's only about 4 left in the world still running, Sarkanniemi is a business, not a museum.

I expect the Zamperla catalogue is being browsed as we speak.

What the world desperately needs is another spinning mouse. Luckily, it one should fit that footprint perfectly ;)

Mehhhhh. Wasn't that great anyway! Doesn't work in the rain anyway.

posting from somewhere in the world...

One less cred </3 but one less Schwarzkopf <3

Although Jet Stars are quite good fun and offer a mild measure of vibrating bottomness.

Gutted I won't get an extra cred when I visit in August but at least it's nothing special. According to RCDB only four Jet Stars now operate in the world.

As seen in the link below, they are scapping their Schwarzkopf Jet Star from 1980.
Pretty sad, but it's probably a maintaince nightmare and I already got the cred so go ahead, tear it down ;-b

What could replace it? - A Vekoma Stingray seems scary perfect for that park! - Or maybe an El Loco, since they already have a flyer.

I doubt they'd get a Stingray. as they already have a Volare.
