SeaWorld San Antonio (Texas) will close their current water park, Lost Lagoon, on September 5th and carry out a mega revamp. When it opens in May 2012, it'll be several acres larger, renamed Aquatica and promises to be awesome.

I've digested the press release for you, cut out the crap and bring you the bits which I think are interesting...
  • 42,000 square feet of sandy beaches, with poolside luxury services, sun loungers, hammocks, private cabanas etc.
  • Themed to a tropical lagoon with rivers and interactive animal features.
  • Many different water pool experiences for all the family; tube/rubber ring pools, wave machine with 5ft high waves, geysers, waterfalls, dumping buckets, water jets, misty tunnels etc.
  • More than seven water slides. Mixture of enclosed and open. Some pitch black. Steep drops, water curtains, twists, turns etc.
  • Stingray Rapids - A five-seater raft ride that takes riders on a journey through an underwater grotto.
  • Wahalla Wave - Another family sized raft ride which uses waves to climb to the top of a zero-G wall.
  • Ray Connect - An interactive ray pool where guests can experience, feed and touch rays up close.

There you go.

Sounds really cool, but, the pool of rays actually sounds like my own personal vision of Hell.

I have no intention of ever doing a Steve Irwin, thanks <//3
