Rating Thorpe Park's rides' intensity against those in WDW

As a fairly new coaster 'aficionado' I have been looking forward to visiting TP (after I caught the coaster bug at WDW a few months ago!). I went on everything (significant) at WDW, and thought "the more intense the better" - but it looks like TP is another significant step up. Also I LOVED RNRC because of how smooth it was.

I wonder if anyone who has been to both places could describe various TP rides by comparing them to rides in Disney World? I know many will say it's impossible to compare, but I am just thinking in terms of thrills and intensity rather than theming and so on!

1) X
2) Colossus
3) Nemesis Infero
4) Saw
5) Stealth
6) The Swarm
7) Tidal Wave (compared to Splash Mountain, I guess?)

Obviously as rides are 'more' intense than those at WDW it would be great to have a numeric way of rating how much more intense they are (e.g. 1.5x/2x/3x the intensity of RNRC).

Thanks!

It's been a while since I went to WDW but most of Thorpe's rides are quite a step up in intensity from anything there. I guess Colossus is most like RNRC (but with way more loops), and the best comparison to Splash Mountain is Loggers Leap (they're about equal).

At a push, Saw could be a way more intense Space Mountain but that's kind of desperate. Simply put, Disney don't do the kind of rides that Stealth, The Swarm, Nemesis etc are - but you'll enjoy them!

Thanks! I think I'll love them anyway. I rode Vampire at Chessington a while ago and thought that wasn't very thrilling... just worried now that Nemesis Inferno is going to be too far the other way

Cheers

Oh if you can do Vampire you can do Nemesis Inferno, obviously it's a step up in terms of thrills, but it's hardly a massive step. Good luck, you'll enjoy it!

This is really daft.

^Yeah, a roller coaster enthusiast asking other roller coaster enthusiasts about roller coasters on a roller coaster forum, ridiculous!

In all seriousness though Thorpe is no problem; Nemesis Inferno and X are very tame, Swarm and Tidal Wave aren't much and Stealth, Swarm and Colossus are a step up but nothing too ridiculous. Don't expect that WDW smoothness though!

Get out or learn the meaning of the word 'equal'.

Well, it's been a while seen I rode Splash Mountain but surely in terms of intensity there's not much between Splash's drop and Loggers'? The rest of the ride is vastly different, yes, but you get bloody wet on Loggers.

Re: Rating Thorpe Park's rides' intensity against those in W

I'd say it's hard to compare the two other than on overall ride experience. Loggers Leap has the double drop sort of thing and you are seated in a traditional log, whilst Splash Mountian has a standard (ie not double) but very good drop. The guests are seating two in a row in a log themed boat. This is obvious. As for overall ride experience, for me, Splash Mountain is the clear winner.
