Park in Uzbekistan closes under mysterious circumstances

On Saturday 4th May, potential guests arrived at the Gofur Golum amusement park in Tashkent to find that it was under Police cordon. The park's official comment stated that “There was a cleanup day in the park”. Traders report being told that trees in the park were emitting harmful substances, although no evidence of this was spotted. The park re-opened as normal on Sunday afternoon.

The second half of the article talking about the impact independence has had on the theme parks in the country was actually half interesting.
