Paint the Night Parade Open in Disneyland California

I'm sure there's a topic somewhere, but a quick search (shockingly) didn't yield any results and I've only got a few minutes, so maybe we can merge this later.

Anyway, the Paint the Night Parade, originally brought to Hong Kong Disneyland last year, is now running at the California park. It's very similar to the original, but with a few extras that Hong Kong doesn't have.

1. Tinkerbell's float is more impressive; they've shoved Peter Pan in there as well.

2. They've added in some puppets of Tigger, Aladdin's genie, Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast (with real fire by the looks of it), and Nemo and whatever his dad's called.

3. The Monsters Inc. float doesn't seem as impressive as Hong Kong's. Maybe it's not quite working properly yet, but with Hong Kong's, the doors spin/rotate a lot more. The green thing at the back (don't know the character's name) moves more as well. It could just be the video not showing enough though.

3. They've added a couple of princesses following Belle, though they're just stuck on some generic looking floats.

3. There's a whole new Frozen float, which was to be expected. I'd be surprised if this didn't get added into Hong Kong at some point. To be honest though, I don't think it looks that great compared to the other major floats, especially The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.

I've just watched it on a work computer and without any sound, so I don't know if the soundtrack is any different, though I'd be surprised if it was. They seem to have taken out the whole paintbrush/interactive element though (rightly so as it just doesn't work very well at all and ruins the flow of the parade), so the soundtrack would have to be edited accordingly.

It's a great addition. The Hong Kong version is the best parade I've ever seen, and this one has just added even more to it. If they've got any sense, they'll look at replacing that awful Electrical Parade in Florida soon as well.

I'll be there on June 4, so depending on if it conflicts with World of Color, NPH edition, I'll check it out. That'll be my last visit until end of August, at the earliest.

Ooh looks like a parade I might be able to endure! I'm not a "parade person", but the American night time parades are/were in desperate need of an upgrade.

Last night we popped into the park for dinner (blue boyou is absolutely exquisite, best meal I've had outside of a place in DC) and as we were walking out, the parade was going on.

We got there at 6, and people were already lining the streets, two rows back, three hours early. Since we were walking they were making us move but it was amazing looking. We are going again next Thursday and are even considering waiting for 2 hours so we can see it up close, and I hate parades.
