So one of my in-laws called out from work today and we figured what better way to spend 4 hours then at SeaWorld, as they celebrate their 50th birthday for 18 months!
I know there are a few SW trip reports so I will keep this shortish and just stick to some new stuff and maybe some B&M porn.
They have repainted a ton of stuff around the park, added marquees in various spots that have moments in SeaWorld history, and various other surprises and goodies throughout the park. Think Year of a Million Dreams from Disney, but with hideous costumes (not pictued in this report :| )
Here are some of the "goodies", 3-d art on the ground that makes it look like Mrs. R2 is feeding baby R2 to a dolphin.
Another "surprise" is One Ocean is back open, in technical rehearsals, as they re-acclimate the Killer Whales to the main pool.
Like the sign said they did not perform the full show, I would say about half, and the whales participated in even less. I always enjoy the shows when the animals "go rogue", as it creates for those awkward, realistic interactions. It was still a good 20 minutes of shaded seats, and the rest of the crowd enjoyed it well enough. My wife dumped the 5 month old in my lap, who promptly fell asleep for the length of the show. She also refused to play photographer as she wanted to "just watch" for once. Bah-Humbug. Here are some Whale photos from 2010.
At this point it was midday and we were ready to head home. We caught a few more photos of the harbor and left.
Oh, almost forgot, here's some random Manta photos.
This was not presented by Gavin or the chick who creates charts so I doubt there will be comments. :--D
