Old MacDonald's Farm, #CredLife

Jordanovichy

Credit Whore 2016
An unsuspecting Sunday in Britain in March. You'd expect it to be a dreary day of doing a lot of nothing much. Alas, how different could it, in reality, be!? A group of some goons made the journey to Old MacDonald's Farm off the M25 for the wacky worm cred and to look at some animals. Here are some stories of the day:

My day started at 11:30 when ATTACKHAMMER and family picked me up. We were excited for the first new cred of the year. We took the hour's drive down south before reaching a much-busier-than-anticipated farm. They'd been offering vouchers and that tied with a warm spring day meant the crowds turned out in droves. The car park was full so we had to park on a road. We ate our sandwiches cos we're cool. I had tuna and cucumber rolls, 4 of them.

We were due to meet some goons at 1pm so we joined the entrance queue at around 12:50. 10 minutes later than scheduled the goons joined us and merged in the queue where we were. The goons consisted of Darren B, Peep, Patrick and DelPiero + child. Finally we got in.

Once in we made a bee line for the cred, it's a cred after all. In the queue line we saw some llamas:

Darren B and DelPiero wanted a cigarette so we went on without them. ATTACKHAMMER went on the cred first...and on his own, because 'there was a space'. Have some pictures of the cred.

Next up was myself, Sarah, Peep and Patrick. Sarah and I crammed ourselves into the front row, Peep and Patrick behind. Their lap bar wouldn't close so were told to just hold it in place. As expected it was nothing more than a simple +1.

Of course we had to wait for Darren B and DelPiero and child to ride before we moved on. Have a picture of Darren B enjoying himself:

I wanted to go on the biiiig slide. But you needed a child, luckily DelPiero had one! I walked up the stairs with child (he was holding my hand, awwww), it was one of those slides where you get in a sack. While I was getting into it at the top, child had disappeared down the slide without me! How rude. So I had to look a right plonker going down on my own which I'm sure someone will have much merriment posting a picture of later.

We moved on to look at some animals. Rabbits, parrots and a chipmunk.

I thought their enclosures were terribly small especially given some of the rabbits.

Then we moved on to the M25 viewing platform, also known as pig pier. It was smelly.

I took a selfie with Peep, Darren B and a tiny bit of ATTACKHAMMER, with the M25 in the background:

Child decided he wanted picking up and carrying, Uncle Not So Hot Jordanovichy to the rescue!

We had a little wander around some more animals, sheep, pigs, meerkats, and a goose:

We then went to watch a show which turned out to not actually be the show. We thought it was just some chickens clucking but once the goons had gone we went back and they all dance and sing!

The goons left just after 3, ATTACKHAMMER, family and I mooched around for a bit but decided to head off home anyway. We wanted an ice cream but due to it being the first day Britain has seen 20C since last September the whole site consisted of just 3 milky moos.

It was a great afternoon, plenty of laughs, and a +1! Wooo

Thanks to everyone who came along today, and thanks to Peep for planting the idea in our heads. The laughs were great as always but I've got to say the park was **** awful! CFers generally love a kids park, but this was a park too much.

There was actually **** all to do apart from grab the cred, take a walk along the world famous M25 viewing platform and GTFO. As we had DelPiero's kid with us we had to stay for at least a couple of hours to keep him happy, which is a must as he's a lovely kid and has years and years of potential in him for kiddie parks (Congratulations, Furie, you can now retire MMF and allow him to live his life in peace) ;)

So yeah, thanks again guys for another day of top laughs. See you all soon!

Did you do the fab tractor ride?

Nope. It looked REALLY sh1t! Not even Tom's 2 year old was prepared to lose 5 minutes of his life on it. And it actually had a ridiculously long queue, we even had to wait 30 mins for the cred.

Thanks for the unabridged version Not-So-Hot-Jordan!

My day began with travelling to the other side of London with Patrick to Liverpool Street where we caught the train to Romford (what a lovely place it is too). Outside the station is where we met the car that consisted of a Darren, Tom and SonOfTom. 20 minutes later and we arrived to find an overflowing car park and the longest queue I've ever seen for such a small park. We managed to squeeze into a space in the car park which Darren skilfully did without hitting anyone and in front of a huge crowd. As soon as we got out of the car we bumped into Not-So-Hot-Jordan and Dan with the whole crew. Yay for random last minute meet ups with a decent crowd.

And a crowd we needed, just to keep ourselves amused during the very long wait to get in (about 20-30 minutes?).

I thought this was Old MacDonalds Farm, not Hyde Park?

Once in with our 2-for-1 vouchers etc we concentrated on the map...

The pondering cow ponders what to have for lunch

Enough faff had occurred and there were more pressing matters at hand like getting a +1 on our coaster counts. Goons at heart we "walked" to the uber exciting and out of this World wacky worm rollercoaster. How excited we all were. Only to be met with a horrible queue...

BiSh8NzIgAAirWH.jpg

It was actually a lot longer than this photo shows

The Llama judged our presence. "Hey! You've already hit puberty!"

*groan*

The wait was finally over and we were on board, ready to roll. Patrick and I shared a row to try and increase capacity. Patrick's leg was in the way of the lapbar catch which led to the ride op saying to us, "keep your arms just there on top of the bar for me, great". Reassured that we weren't really going to go flying out of this ever so thrilling rollercoaster he let the train roll out of the station. What a jolly ride, the little predictable bumps before a high speed drop into a very heavy trim brake and that wasn't all! To make sure we got our monies worth we got to do it all again without even getting off! Exciting stuff I'm sure you can agree.

Ummm

SonOfTom wanted to go on the big slide so Darren took him on. Looked like they both had a fantastic time. SonOfTom loved it so much he wanted to go on again and Jordan was so excited about going on too that he took him back up the spiral stairs for another go down the slide.

A small park wouldn't be complete without some form of casual copyright infringement

It was then time to start staring at animals in tiny enclosures. There were some birds, bunnies and owls.

Seconds later this horse kissed a ladies back and it nearly gave her a heart attack, it was amazing

It was time for the highlight of the park... The M25 viewing platform! I know that we were all very excited to finally get the chance to stand on the most famous motorway viewing platform in the UK. It was beautiful and sturdy and the views of the passing traffic was outstanding.

I found it amusing that the whole time spent on the platform SonOfTom kept just staring at the mud and clearly stating "mud". #easilyamused

Something very odd about that sheep

I really wanted to see a child give this a go

We looked at some more animals which is when we were warned of the dangers of goat food...

There were loads of baby animals too chilling on a lovely sunny day...

There were plenty of non-Rabbits in the Rabbitry which was odd.

The animatronic show was not very entertaining.... more terrifying.

I don't know what his plan was but it clearly wasn't a pleasant one

And that concluded our brief visit. Jordan, Dan and family of Dan stayed back a bit. Patrick and I had to get back for a certain train which was a shame as I could have wasted more time there, even if to just hang out more with our fellow goons. It was also such a lovely day and spending it (albeit briefly) with some great people was the best way to complete our weekend. It's also got me really excited about all the up and coming meets in the not so distant future. Yay for being GOONS!

Thanks for reading you lovely people.

I have no idea what you're talking about, it was excellent:

I love the landscaping/theming. They've really managed to make it look like a muddy, **** filled field.

Thank **** for that. I keep thinking that maybe I'll do a credit run while passing with the family one day, but the place looks really awful, and not worth breaking the journey for. Though llamas for the win!

It's great that short trips like this can be arranged so quickly, and was a nice Sunday to start my season.
The weather was brilliant, even in Darren's sweltering car with no working AC.

We picked up Peep and Patrick from Romford after being sent to a random station in Hornchurch by the Sat Nav and pulled into the heaving car park. I never expected to see that many people at a farm, good weather + groupon deals = stupidly busy park.

Luckily NSH Jordan and ATTACKHAMMER were greeting us as we got out of the car and we fell into line with Dan's family.
After what seemed like an hour we finally entered the farm, and goons rushed to queue for the cred. Myself and Darren snagged a quick ciggy before going on the slide with SonOfTom.

We then got in the queue for the worm while bribing SonOfTom with biscuits and sandwiches to distract him from the slide which was all he wanted to go on.

Darren went on first while I watched the child, he was so damn happy to get this cred.

IMG_2321.jpg

We swapped child minding duties while I got the +1, back row (yes John, it was the back row :) ) and enjoyed the brief fling as I went down the main drop. That is all.

The rest of the goons had kindly waited for us so we moved on, with the giant slide once again calling to SonOfTom, Darren this time took him.

IMG_2323.jpg

He wanted another go so grabbed NSH Jordan's hand and led him up the stairs. Seeing a small child come flying out of the slide sans adult(?!) was surprising, followed by a dismayed NSH Jordan.

They took a liking to each other.

IMG_2325.jpg

We then had a quick look at the Rabbits and Birds, which weren't very interesting, and found a water pump with running water!! SonOfTom and Darren had fun with this, the little tykes.

The group them moved on to the Pig Pier.

IMG_2324.jpg

It was super.

We had a wander around looking at things I can't remember and thought about getting a burger. Queue was still horrific so we minced around for 15/20 mins, caught the Chicken show thing and decided to make a move.

It was nice to see the guys and gal again, and was a nice day even though the park is pants.

Memory of the day

IMG_2326.jpg

Looks like a fun little park, love it! Wish we had places like that here in the US! It's no Cedar Point but it's a fun way to kill an afternoon.

My trip report of the day:

After getting ready it was time to go to Tesco and buy some sandwiches and crisps for the cred run ahead.
Then my family and I headed to pick up Jordanovichy from his home close buy.
We then drove to the park in question, Old Mac Donald's Farm, a creed I'd driven past some many times but never got, until today (or yesterday when the trip report was posted)
The day started with an eleven year old telling us that the car park was so we parked on the grass beside the road, eat lunch and went to the entrance of the park. In front of us was the biggest queue for a kiddie park I'd ever seen. I then noticed Darren B, Tom, Peep and Patrick standing near a car so Jordanovichy and I went to meet them and once SonOfTom had been removed from his car seat we merged with my family in the massive queue like ninjas. 30 minutes later we were inside the park and headed straight for the beast.

Darren, Tom and SonOfTom went off for a bit so the rest of us rode the monster.
Goons in the queue

I rode first because there was a space back row and because I didn't fancy being crammed in :P Where I sat so counts as back row :P

Then it was the turn of the other goons, who looked to be in a bit snug

The apple was most disappointing

After everyone had ridden the Wacky Worm, we headed towards a big slide, which SonOfTom loved, Darren took him on no trouble, then as SonOfTom wanted to go on again Jordanovichy took him on, I think he is allowed near children, and SonOfTom came down on his own because Jordanovichy couldn't keep up, I think he needs to practice his slides more :P
We walked towards the M25 viewing platform where SonOfTom was very interested in the mud.
We took a group picture

Before walking around the rest of the park and visiting the chicken show which we thought was running, we thought sort of wrong.

It was then time to see the glorified pet shop farm part of the park, the sheep went baa

and the pig decide to make us a big present, which thankfully there is no photo of.
I looked down on the donkey which looked up at me before looking down again

Honk Honk! Goose on the loose!
pj9UWe6.jpg

After this we said goodbye to Tom, SonOfTom, Darren, Peep and Patrick.
Jordanovichy, Sarah and I then went to the top of the hill

We then meet up with my family and went to watch the chicken show again

Then we all left, sadly the ice cream freezer was bare so we didn't get one and drove to Harlow where the Harvester was full so I suggested driving home to visit a local indian restaurant, which was damn tasty!
Jordanovichy then sent me a snapchat

of the peril he was in while pondering his nose, he made it out alive.
We then dropped Jordanovichy off and went home.
It was an awesome day, thanks to all those that came!
See you soon!
