Yes, another year is upon on which means it's time to start the "Celebrity Death List" game again.

You'll note that this year I'm running it again. When I ran it, Michael Jackson died so anybody is game! I've also changed to it to "Notable Deaths" because some obscure Scandinavian 1960's politician isn't really a celebrity.

I will not be accepting deaths of pets/family members of notable people, unless they were notable/famous in their own right.

First member to name and certifying the death with a link (Wiki links disallowed) gets 1 point. Half a point for being the first to name the death but without the link. If someone posts a death without a link, and you are able to provide a link, you get the other half a point.

Let the morbidity begin!

SCOREBOARD

If some one posts a death without a link, and you are able to provide a link, do you get the other half of the point?

^Check the headline. He died in May of 2010. In fact, I remember someone posting that in the 2010 deaths topic.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. I'll amend the first post.

Scoreboard (in first post) updated to this point.

Sorry for double post. Actually, no, I'm not...

Does that mean we're not allowed to post obscure Scandi politicians? Or that we are, but that's why it's not known as "celebrity deaths" anymore? If it's the latter... bring it on :)

Yes, it's the muddy waters between "notable" and "celebrity".

A notable person is somebody who has achieved something with their life and is well known for it. A celebrity is a name of somebody we all know because they sell trashy magazines and gossip columns in newspapers.

So yeah, in this years Death List Game, Scandinavian politicians can be counted, as they are notable.

Gerry Rafferty, musician
Someone else can have the other half for a link - none exist yet, only tweets and wikipedia

Lol, you're certainly winning the "Read the Wikipedia Deaths in 2011 page and then find other links" game!

And shame about Rafferty. That der-der-der-der-d-d-derr" bit in Baker Street is awesome.
